Government-sponsored Private Sector Job Board Program

This would establish an Internet job board sponsored and maintained by the federal government that would collaborate with private sector companies and institutions to provide job-seekers with a more efficient and consolidated pool of work opportunities(in contrast to existing Internet job boards, which are collectively superfluous and inefficient in their listing of work opportunities).

Psychological profiling of national security new hires

Please consider using tests based upon the work of Dr. Robert Alteman to weed out Natioanal Security (CIA, NSA, DIA, military academies, etc.) applicants fitting the "Double High" profile. He defines this as those scoring highly on measures of both Authoritarian Personality and Social Dominance. Looking back over the past five decades, it would appear that many of the difficulties we currently face are the result of activities ...more »

Equal Opportunity for LEGAL Employment Based Immigrants

Country Quotas for LEGAL Employment Based Immigration are Discriminatory and Unconstitutional. This will help businesses and the economy by making legal immigrants want to live here, buy houses, spend and generally boost the economy instead of being constantly afraid of 10 year waits, inability to switch jobs etc. As of last count there are more than half a million pending immigration applications! Waits are more ...more »

We NEED all our unemployed Citizens

If We the People, through government, help unemployed Citizens with other citizen taxes and effort, and should always do, that is NOT good enough. While trying to get a new job, these few MILLIONS of people should not be wondering and lowering their self esteem, adding to money restraints. They CAN help themselves and the community, by still going to work every morning, TEMPORARLY paid by Government instead of Companies. ...more »

Ban the electoral collage

I remember election day. The Alaskan poles had not even closed and (elledged) president obama was giving his acceptance speech. I was so pissed that my vote counted for not. Nothing, nodda. All I ever heard was "that's how the system works". Had the peoples vote actually counted, (alledged) president obama would not be selling out our country like he lived on Jackle Island like the last jerk that sold us out. Wile we ...more »

People who wish to be hired

could submit their application by getting involved in a special forum (similar to this perhaps?) that would ask them to prove themselves first by producing on a volunteer basis. Commission might even be involved. I've always liked the idea of commission pay in government jobs. If you don't produce you just get minimum wage but those that produce get a commission that raises their pay substantially. Potentially, such ...more »

Re-evaluate the way the Rule of Three and Veteran's Preference is Applied

Our veterans deserve to be given additional consideration for federal jobs due to their sacrifices for the country. This mandated Rule of Three, however is giving an unfair advantage to veterans, pre-dominantly male, and significantly hindering the government's ability to hire younger talent. I have seen a number of comments/concerns about the government's tendency to hire internally rather than externally, this is ...more »

Insourcing Body Shop Jobs

Insource government jobs currently performed by "body shop" contractors. This will save the government 10's of billions a year. Pay the worker a little bit more and get rid of the zero value add "body shop" company / contract. This idea goes hand-in-hand with streamlining the government's hiring practices. These civil servant exams are great, but if you are looking for an Electrical Engineer or a Computer Programmer, ...more »

Foreign Service & Military Spouse employment

Partners of serving Foreign Service and Military personnel face a range of issues related to securing employment and maintaining a career as they regularly relocate overseas serving the country in this indirect manner. Often, very talented people settle with a low paying embassy or local economy positions just so they have a job. In many cases they cannot find work. This latent pool of skilled Americans can serve our ...more »

Could the general public be better served if a new perspective were examined with respect to maintaining US federal highways?

For example, before the Interstates these roads were the main arteries or as we expressed it “the way-to-go-to-town” . . . a genuine, U.S. federally funded and maintained four-lane, media-divided (sometimes landscaped) super-highway. But the well-maintained older, federal highway system is fast becoming a public nuisance and dangerous. In recognition of the immediate need to preserve the scenic landscape -- forests, ...more »

USPTO EXAMINERS

I WOULD LIKE THE PTO TO TAKE ON THE TASK OF TEACHING THEIR EXAMINERS ENGLISH, MOST PARTICULARLY IN HIGHER ARTS. MANY ARE SO POOR AT COMMUNICATING, THEIR SUPERVISORS CANT UNDERSTAND THEM! ALTERNATIVELY, SINCE THERE ARE MANY QUALIFIED UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS WHO SPEAK THE LANGUAGE WHY NOT OFFER JOBS TO BE EXAMINERS ONLINE? THEY COULD BE HIRED PART OR FULL TIME, WITHOUT NEED TO CREATE MORE OFFICE SPACE, ETC. THEY COULD WORK ...more »
