Rewrite Congress's Job Description

Economists, bankers, and regulators—all failed to protect us from the financial crisis we’re now facing. And they will again—because their job description does not require them to regularly review and revise the entire framework of financial regulation. But Congress might well succeed where these others have so often failed if it rewrites its own job description to include this task. Recurrent financial crises point... more »

Support Interagency Collaboration

To support collaborative governance, agencies need to share information and expertise. Agencies need a shared platform for collaborative governance. Historically, the Administrative Conference of the United States played an important role in the growth of dispute resolution, and could serve a similar function more broadly for collaborative governance, provided it was interdisciplinary and not focused on law. Moreover,... more »

Direct the Federal Executive Boards (FEBs) to develop plans for collaborative projects that engage the public on regional issues

Most of the Federal government is actually not based in Washington, DC. Approximately 88 percent of all Federal employees work outside the National Capital Region. Federal programs have their impact largely through the actions of the field representatives of the departments and agencies. The Federal Executive Boards are a forum for communication and collaboration among Federal agencies outside of Washington, DC. The... more »

Consolidate purchasing and administration for prescription benefits for federal health care expenditures

The Federal government already pays for between 40 and 50 percent of the health care in the United States. How? When you include active military, VA, medicare, medicaid, federal employees, children, and disability care, the number ranges between 40 and 50 percent. Yet, the payment structure, administration, and prescription lists are vastly different across programs and agencies. It is a well acknowledged fact that prescription... more »

Suicide Prevention in All Federal Departments

Department of Defense components have created 'suicide prevention' programs and trained their military and civilian personnel to be alert and responsive to the needs of their organizations and circumstances. The DoD programs lend themselves to being adapted throughout all Federal Departments and Agencies. I suggest a top down directive to all federal departments that will encourage suicide prevention training for federal... more »

Equal Opportunity, Presidential Office and Supreme COurt

Reinforce the truly American principal, Equal Opportunity. Mr McCain's birth records were officially perused and verified by Senate and Congress, its time for Mr. Obama to produce this simple piece of paper which will put this issue at rest. (However, remember Mr Obama met with 2/3+ of the Supreme Court and the fix is already in). The cases are in the hands of the Supreme Court, time for them to deal with Equal Opportunity.... more »

Turn over the names of the Republiklan cyberterrorists to the FBI.

On June 1st, 2009 a cadre of the members of the Republiklan party decided that they wanted to obstruct the process of government, so they posted hundreds of "ideas" that more or less questioned the birth certificate and the birth of our President Barack Obama. They also voted down every progressive "idea" on this web site. These user ids and their email addresses should get turned over to the FBI so the government can... more »

Have Federal Employees Twitter/Microblog their Work/Results

I think that Federal Employees across the nation should Tweet the project that they are working on, or tasks they are completing. Once a day, twice a week, whatever. We could then create individual networks for specific Agencies, Departments, and Offices, so the American people can track the progress employees are making. The information could then be compiled at the end of the week to give a graphical representation... more »
