OpenGov - Open Government Brainstorm Ideas

Make insurance companies conform to a standard (not just similar) claim processing form. Allow any licensed insurance company to process any claim from any other insurer or government agency, then settle on a nightly basis the same way we currently do with banking through the Federal Reserve system. Allow the company that processes the claim a per claim processing fee that is part of the settlement.

This should be a TOP priority for this country.

This is what the vast majority that voted for President Obama wants; a single payer health care system that is sustainable for the foreseeable future.

 

Why can't we have our REPRESENTATIVES carry out our wishes, and not the wishes of "Big-Business?"

 

Remember, big-business caused the problem; they no interest in solving that which has made them RICH!

Many representatives work hand in hand to KEEP single payer health care from even being represented at meetings. And they also take huge amounts of money in contributions from HMO, Big Pharma and other medical groups. WHY should WE be giving benefits to representatives who work to keep the public from getting help?

Most people do NOT understand that the 'cost' of health care is not that they are 'using' lots but that the providers are charging at 'what the market can tolerate'.

People are made to feel guilty rather than realize that the 'cost' is what health care expects to receive. This has to change and be EXPLAINED!

Every poll I have ever seen has health care as the very last (about 2% usually) in importance to the American people. I can honestly say I do not want to pay for an illegal alien to go to the emergency room 10 times a week (know for a fact from working in the healthcare field). Here is the way it works:
The government insures you against diseases. You have a choice of all sorts of private insurance for any budget and any need. There are moderators tickets (paid by government if you are poor, paid by the private insurance if you have one) at emergencies room.

If you are sick, you can choose your type of hospital: public, private non-profit or private.

I would like to share my ideas regarding national health care with you.

I believe that someone such as the Surgeon General or someone else should determine what a basic health plan (driven by public health care policies) should be. Hi. This is just a rough idea, but I felt I should share it.

Our country is dealing with a huge obesity problem. In short, we need to get this country to exercise.

I think it would be worthwhile for the government to set aside funds to partially subsidize exercise and fitness programs.

While we do have low cost alternatives like the YMCA and public park space for running and jogging that’s clearly not doing enough.... more »

If we are to have socialized medicine forced down our throats, then it should also be good enough for Congress and the President to use. Congress and the President have the best health care plans money can buy. Americorp workers by and large are students working to help pay for school. Americorp by and large does really good work. Giving health care benefits to these students is least a start to covering some of the uninsured. Because young people generally have few serious problems, the cost would actually be pretty minimal.

Have health insurance companies follow the same rules walmart does. If walmart refuses to sell you something you can sue them, if walmart gives someone 20% off the price and not you, you can sue them, so why do we let the health insurance companies do this?
