The current electronic voting systems have been concluded as lacking appropriate security due to design and software code issues. Open source software systems have been demonstrated as an inexpensive security solution. The country should move toward open source / paper ballot voting systems that displace the current proprietary code syatems. Fee waivers for open source systems, EAC appointments to those understanding transparency issues, and a reshaping of the currently broken certification process are all crucial elements of a proper solution.
