Employers need tolerate past marijuana offenses

I have so much trouble finding and being accepted after background check during the employment process. Best Buy first hired me but then after a background check showed that I had a possession of marijuana charge which was a misdemeanor, I was denied the offer for employment. I'm not a criminal!! I never stole or murdered anyone. I want congress to pass a law for companies to not deny employment for past offenses when it relates to marijuana.
