There has been much hoopla over having to press 1 to hear english. And it is almost political suicide for politicians pushing legislation in the house or senate. So I say let the people decide. Put it on the ballet for the next federal election. With the stipulation that those who want to learn english to learn how to fit in can get help through open access training via online resources.
There needs to be and independant evaluation of the education systems Covering everything from teaching methods and systems, Building costs and maintainence, Administrative practices, evaluation of pay including bonuses, and extra cirricular expenses. Along with test scores. And compare all of that to a home school, charter school, Adult education, early childhood education, private school, even colledge, graduate school, and even medical school.

A stress test for the education system.

From that evaluation build a model for a new direction for education.

Including making available birth to work education. And having free online training resources for fundamental knowledge like math, and english. And other educational training that can be learned without subjective perspective. And can also be used as a foundational education training tool that can supplement class room training.
All members incharge of combat strategy and strategic deployment of troups should be required to learn the game of go or igo. Along with chess.

Your comment has valitity, but doesn't really address the whole issue. The federal government can't change the minds of the police department,or change the fact that the appointed lawyers are less competent over all. They can't change the cultures of people who choose to do wrong or bad things.

What the government can do is investigate the failures in the system, set a new idea or direction in place, and establish rules to kick foreward the change.

My suggestion to you would be to with this in mind rewrite your post maybe to have all judicial records become digital so independant investigative groups can more easily evaluate and see the results of our current systems. Or Have the prision and rehab system be evaluated to see what works what doesn't work so they can put more money into the systems that work and cut funding for the ones that don't work.

These are things the government can and should do. Hoping to change the cultures and predjudices of the people can only happen in the hearts and minds of the individuals. There is no miricle cure for that.

Seriously rework your post...You'll get a beter response.

The government alone isn't the blame. If you really look at it. And I mean really look. You'd see that the greed of the few have come to punnish the masses. If the banks didn't give out money they shouldn't have to people who couldn't pay their bills. There wouldn't have been a housing crisis. If the car companies spent their time and money making a better product and working towards a more streamlined industry instead of paying massive money to lobbiests to fight the established rules and laws then there wouldn't have been a collapse of the auto industry.

Remember they went to the government begging for money not the other way around. If you wan't to be pissed at the government for their attempt to thwart another depression then so be it. Without regulation the working class becomes a slave system fot the wealthy. History proves that over and over and over again.

As far as health care goes I dare you to call a hospital and ask how much an apendix removal will cost you out of pocket.

When was the last time you bought something without knowing the price.

The downside to that idea is if you start splitting water to use the hysrogen you run the rist of turning water into a fossil fuel. That won't come back.

The problem with the home based oil isn't that there isn't any oil. It is that the taxes and regulations to pull the oil out of the ground here on us soil is very cost prohibitive. In otherwords the oil companies in order to maximise profits would rather support other countries oil productions as opposed to pay a little more and use ours thus supporting our own economy.

If you have a productive idea that will help push our nation foreward we are happy to hear it. Otherwise stop whining and go away. We are here to be part of the digital revolution not whine about why we have to do things under a popularly elected official. (that is a useless waste of energy) We need to identify problems and reasonable solutions. The solution to your problem is simple have your son move to canada. problem solved.
