Having this more broadly available for Congress is even more crucial per kdtroxel comments. If we can make them feel more connected to their constituents and other citizens I'm sure it will impact them positively.
I think Edward brings up a good point, however, we should work within those concerns and still make the data publicly available. Perhaps making the authors anonymous would help?
Additionally, we should get to see what our representatives are using to make decisions that will impact us, their constituents.
This is a great idea, but the implementation will be difficult. However, any effort to get citizens more engaged in a thoughtful way deserves all the effort we can muster. Too often we are caught up in "group-think" or "partisan-speak" and miss the opportunity to improve an idea or initiative. Kudos!
This is a great idea and could probably be linked with Rep. Boehner's idea. We need to get to key points of any legislation quickly and in an unbiased way.
Take the virtual social networking concept to government. A lot of these initiatives could be empowered through a Facebook-like service for government participation.
The Secretary of State recently launched a virtual diplomacy program--let's have that at all levels and in all branches of government.
Find a way to start engaging kids at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Making that part of their education will only enrich this country. My home state of Florida, required that we complete community service hours. Engage those types of programs and requirements more actively across the country!
It's just as important to give individuals the tools to determine if a policy is worth it. Breaking down effects by state and county will be a step in that direction. Also, identify which member of Congress is supporting specific initiatives.
