I spent about 7.5 years in the Forest Service as a Physical Science Technician in a research lab and it seemed we were always taking some federally mandated training. Every year it was the same thing and it was enough to drive a lot of new personnel away. Is there a possibility this headache could be changed to every three years, so they could get on with their jobs? It’s enough to drive you stark raving mad, especially when you get to the point of printing your certificate and the bloody thing won’t work. If you don’t get it done before a certain time, they’ll hold up your paycheck, which adds to the stress. This is designed by those who sit at a desk all day, but for those who have to work out in the field, it can be a nightmare, especially during fire season (for those on fire assignments). Instead of online tests, why not have everybody gathered, tell them what they need to know, have them sign the muster sheet and be done with it. Technology has its uses, but sometimes it can be a genuine pain in the rump.
Having the offspring of power serve their country in uniform is something the British nobility has done for hundreds of years and in fact royalty led their armed forces into battle. As a Veteran of Military service and the son of two Veterans, I believe the Commander in Chief is a position that should be held by someone who has served a minimum of four years active duty in any branch of our Military service and I don’t mean ducking into the National Guard to avoid being drafted. If you are going to lead troops, you should at very least have been one of the troops. We should also rename the Department of Defense the War Department, like it was by the end of WW2.

“Anyone who has ever looked into the glazed eyes of a soldier dying on the battlefield will think hard before starting a war.” Chancellor Karl Otto Von Bismarck

OK, save the fuel, how about a space tether?

Reading the bills doesn't cut into legislation time, as that is legislation. It hampers pork hunting for reelection and unfortunately to some of them, reelection is more important than us.

For anybody who believes this is to eliminate the Senate, go back and read it again. Someone else proposed to eliminate the Senate, but this proposal is to eliminate that elimination. It's an awkwardly worded double negative and can be very confusing at first.

Include the revolving door between government and industry. Much of this is nothing more than a fanciful dream, but stranger things have happened, so add as much as you can so some of it might stick.

Regarding the destruction of the World Trade Center, my SWAG is the Mossad agents dancing and singing on the other side of the river set the charges and had the detonators, because they weren't there just to look. Read Vickor Ostrovsky's books "By Way of Deception," and "The Other Side of Deception," to understand my answer. Speaking of the Mossad is not antisemitic. This ought to draw some hate.

On a side note about that day, jet fuel does not burn hot enough to melt steel, fire does pulverize concrete and fire does not naturally burn downward, especially with discontiguous fuels without a strong wind. After the initial explosion, the aircraft fuels were negligible. There were no strong down drafts reported that day, both in or out of the buildings.

People can get really nasty when they are anonymous. I, like the first poster like the idea of an evaluation, but not anonymous. You would also need a bias filter to determine whether or not special interest groups were stacking the votes. They wouldn't do that, would they?

Congress would never approve of this, so it would have to be an executive decision, as some members have tried this with abysmal results. There could be a citizens evaluation panel that would review not only their own members, but those from all states, as the entirety of congress affects the entire nation. Evaluate their legislation to see if it is centered strictly on their own district or state to see its effect on the nation as a whole as a means of determining a pork ratio. They could as questions like “Why do you believe you deserve a raise?” If they play politics for the sake of politics, rate them downward.

Just to give you a chance, how about the first week of June?

Who would have guessed there were this many Americans not worth defending.

You are and yes I do.

If more of America were potential cannon fodder, they wouldn't be in such a rush to get into the war. It was draft resistance that helped end Vietnam. If there was a possibility you could be sent to some resource war and the perpetrators wanted your support and large numbers were able to say no, it might make it more difficult to start their wars.

Just breeching the topic scares people, which is as far as I expect this to go, but if the possibility existed you could be sent, you wouldn't be so ready to send the troops if you were one of them.

I'm disappointed in you people. How am I going to reach -1,000 by next week?

They are recycling it in the form of depleted uranium ammunition. The manufacturers get it free, the civilians start wars, send the military with their corporate weapons and they get to spread cancer with the DU after it's been fired and turned to powder. That way, the powder can get into your body any way it can and kill you from the inside. Reports of multiple cancers that have been very uncommon have increased dramatically ever since that stuff has been expended. It won't go away in our lifetime and it's been called the gift that keeps on giving. I certainly hope you can think of a better idea than that.

Just do it. I've given up on this site.

The pebble bed reactor is a nice idea, but it doesn't seem to work just yet and with the amount of spent radioactive fuel, it's doubtful they would be able to process much.

I hope you didn't stay up nights trying to formulate the Superman response. Tell DARPA your idea, they love working with comic book material.

While the church may have been a driving force in getting cannon fodder for their wars, the main thrust was property, just like Herr Schickelgruber wanted lebensraum. They wanted to increase their empires. All they had to do to convince poor dirt farmers to join their crusades was tell them they would get their reward in heaven, just like the Islamics told their cannon fodder they would get 77 virgins if they died fighting the infidel. People will believe anything, especially if its in the form of a religion. The more negative votes I get, the more I believe we should institute the draft. Scream on!

This shows me that while most Americans are perfectly willing to absorb all of their Constitutionally granted freedoms, they aren't willing to do anything to preserve them. Remember one thing, its the civilians who start wars, it's just the Military's job to finish them and when the war gets to a particular point, the civilians are supposed to take over again. If you believe for a single moment the civilians have done a great job with our foreign policy lately, you're off your meds. How about instead of 4 active, as 5 minutes appears too long for many, make it 2 active and 6 Reserve. If they knew this was a requirement, just like the citizenship and age, they'd either join or find another job. My new goal is -1,000 by next week.

I knew you wouldn't like it. As long as people are impressed by military might, it will always be easy for those who have no idea what they are doing to send troops into battle and get to prevent photos of coffins returning. Too bad we don't have a draft. If that were the case, we wouldn't be so ready to jump into a war over something as suspicious as 9/11.

As for guaranteed advice, I'd say that was a rather dismal failure during the last administration. CiC is also part of the job description. I never said anything about military for the sake of military. That's your fantasy.

Are you asking this bizarre concept of politicians? The problem there is more people want to hear pretty lies than the ugly truth. Remember the definition of politics: poli - many; tics - blood sucking creatures.

The Federal Reserve, which is neither, should be scrapped.

Then someone in the government should be able to read it and provide them with an executive summary. If members of congress are going to vote on it, they should at least have an idea what they are doing.

I tried to get this idea off the ground a long time ago, but my destination for it was the sun. Once it gets within the orbit of Mercury, it will flash vaporize and become a negligible quantity of solar wind. Give it a heat seeking guidance system to get it on track to target, a radar for collision avoidance with anything it might meet out there and let it add to the mix.

The students should be trained to use a fire extinguisher, know the 4 classes of fire and recognize if a fire is within their capability of fighting and when to pull the alarm and run.

Terribly sorry, I didn't realize a copy and paste would do that to the quote.
