In order to have a transparent government we need to get the American people involved. The only way to succeed is to make it more interesting so people can watch it on a video VIA Television and newer means of viewing. Television was created as a communication tool and now it's just a box of advertisements and programs designed to keep us watching.
We should use this tool and create a prime (non cable channel) Television station that will broadcast all of our senate voting and give the people an opportunity to vote on what are the most important topics that should be on our senate floor on a daily basis as well as the issues requiring large amounts of money, resources and/or American lives. Any advertisement funds (which should be limited) can go to the cost of running of such a television station.
I've seen some very strange senate topics such as the "Monkey Safety Act" that was the topic twice in the last 2 years meanwhile, Americans were paying $4.00/gallon for gas (the first time around) and have record unemployment (the second time around). This was under the previous administration the first time and our current administration the second.
Our Senators spend way to many years in office. We shouldn't have a senator representing for 15, 20, 25 years. Our great country changes often and when we have the same old ideas it leads to the "Monkey Safety Act".

We have to compete with companies for the attention of the American People. And the only way to compete is to join the game.

Again. An issue of having to read through millions of files just to find something important. Our government is a master at hiding things until they think we are ready to know.

That will never change without an instant notification. As well as the problem of other non-citizens being
able to access these files.

And who is going to spend hours and hours reading all the useless records that hide the what affects us.

Thousands of Chrysler Union employees (8 plants in 8 states) were fooled into voting for a contract that would eliminate there jobs at the end of this year and it was all because the 1 page that stated the closing of the plants was buried in the boxes and boxes of paper work so by the time it was realized, it was too late. This all happened with the reassurance of our president that those jobs would be safe. So ask yourself.....

Who will read all of this paper work so Americans can feel they aren't getting fooled again?

It says it there in the constitution. "All men are created equal" I don't understand what is so hard to except from that? Discrimination is something taught at home. I was raised poor and a hispanic but my family didn't teach me discrimination. I couldn't even tell when other were discriminating against me until I was a young man and learned what it was. All the laws in the world will never ever change that.

Each State of our country has it's own state constitution. We don't need the federal government making decisions for all 50 states. maybe they can just stick to protecting our nation. that is the reason it was created so that we can protect our colonies (at the time) from England.

Stop letting our Federal government take power away from the people.

It may start as something great but in the end it's another day for companies to use for sales and citizens may use to take the day off.

I think you're on a good track but we need to get the people interested to a point that voting is respected again.
It's similar to our Catholic churches. You let us down and we lose faith. With out faith there is no interest.

Sounds like a house of representatives to me. Our government started as regular land owning citizens that became public figures and grew into power. Remember that sadly, our country has citizens that don't even want to participate in jury duty so if you have the same several hundred people assembling over and over it becomes an acting power. Our government will not reform.

However, you get a thumbs up cause the idea is great.

I have to disagree with the website idea. Websites are not secure enough to provide trusted government information. We have an issue of old ideas from old minds.
