Now here's a whistleblower idea I can get behind. No 18-page name spam.

Apart from the 18 pages of names, this looks like a good idea. We need a clear and comprehensive set of whistleblower protections for BOTH government and private employees.

Interesting idea! It would be interesting to see who is making what changes to a bill. It would improve representatives' accountability to voters.

Another idea might be to have a Slashdot-style discussion board on bills, where people can comment on changes to the bill. Of course, legislators would also have access to it. It would be sort of like writing letters to your representatives, only faster and easier.

This isn't so much an issue of whether the lights are hooded or not, but one about the type of hood. Some generate more light pollution than others.

You can see the difference from a plane at night. For some street lights you only see a circle of lighted ground. With others, you can see a bright spot at the center -- either a direct line-of-sight to the bulb, or something on the street light is reflecting a great deal of light upwards.

Unhooded and poorly hooded street lights waste energy and pour light upwards unnecessarily, lighting the night sky and obscuring the stars.

What does an underground turtle crossing have to do with the Americans with Disabilities Act?
