Terry Gross had Chip Berlet on her Fresh Air show June 18, talking about extremism, conspiracy theories, and murder. When they got to the 9/11 Truth topic, Berlet ridiculed the 9/11 Truthers because, they have this idea if they can just get the truth about 9/11 to come out, then all the problems in the Nation will be solved. He called it, “magical thinking.” Although I greatly enjoy the interviews on Fresh Air, I do feel Gross genuinely believes anyone who has been labeled a conspiracy theorist is therefore completely wrong--very sad. But, this line of thinking would say, no, a scientific fact based look at 9/11 shouldn’t be done, because obviously it would just come up with the conclusion we (the prevailing opinion) have been right all along. I, of course, think we should look at the scientific facts.
