  goverment subsidized health care

  It is time to remove the medical "insurance" system existing in USA. US is the only developed nation not promising "government subsidized" medical system. It is not "affordable insurance" we need, it is "affordable treatment". Keeping insurance in the middle layer, keeps cost of medicines extremely high, causing injustice to citizens in need (insurance claims rejected).   It is time to remove the medical "insurance" system existing in USA. US is the only developed nation not promising "government subsidized" medical system.

  It is not "affordable insurance" we need, it is "affordable treatment".

  Keeping insurance in the middle layer, keeps cost of medicines extremely high, causing injustice to citizens in need (insurance claims rejected).

  Government subsidized medical system, without "insurance layer" is the only solution.

  Government need to care more about its citizens, than about pharmaceutical companies. Medicine is not business it is a service.

  reform Medical System in USA

  US medical system is 48th in the world, even though US still remains #1 economically. Can you point out any other developed nation treating medicine & hospitals as business? It is time to stop the "business" of pharmaceutical companies & insurance companies. You are never safe with the "medical insurance".   It is time to stop the "business" of pharmaceutical companies & insurance companies. You are never safe with the "medical insurance". When you need it, the insurance company is sure to reject your claim. But they will go un-noticed, because the person, without medical attention wont be able to fight.

  Free medicine like in Canada is what we want.

  Do you know that the exact same medicine cost 1/60 of the price in Cuba?

  Means we are paying 60 times more price for any medicine in USA.

  It is NOT "medical" insurance for everyone that we need. It is "treatment" for everyone that we need.

  It is not "affordable medical" that we need. It is "affordable treatment".

  Keeping the "insurance" in the middle, always allow extremely huge prices for medicine, and rejection of insurance leading to injustice to citizens.

  When the government talks about "affordable healthcare" what they really mean is "affordable insurance". This has to change. Affordable health care means, removal of Insurance, and "government subsidized health care".

  Employment Based Immigration - Increase visa numbers

  Can you believe that if I as an employer want to recruit a foreign national (after a few months of unsuccessful recruiting effort to find ANY US citizens for the position), for a very critical position, it takes me 19 years to bring that person on board in Green Card? Many of these highly skilled individuals are not ready for the "uncertainty" we invite them into in terms of "temporary visa's". So I am forced to wait ...more »

  Can you believe that if I as an employer want to recruit a foreign national (after a few months of unsuccessful recruiting effort to find ANY US citizens for the position), for a very critical position, it takes me 19 years to bring that person on board in Green Card?

  Many of these highly skilled individuals are not ready for the "uncertainty" we invite them into in terms of "temporary visa's". So I am forced to wait for 19 years to bring them over for a specific job, where I have nobody available locally.

  The only option for any US employer in such a situation is to form an organization outside of US, where the specific skill is available, thereby moving a lot of other jobs from US as well.

  I am completely against outsourcing US jobs, but it is not practical to wait for 19 years. I see that the 19 years wait was caused by the very limited number of visa numbers available per year for citizens of some countries.

  If America want to remain competitive it is very important to do something about it.

  Employment Based Immigration - Remove Country Quota

  The original purpose of "country quota" was to support diversity in USA, mainly for family based immigration. The quota doesn't make sense for employment based immigration. EB immigration is to support economic growth of US, and to decrease the shortage of specific skills. So if the special skill is concentrated on one country, you might need more people from that country to decrease the shortage on that skill. Current ...more »

  The original purpose of "country quota" was to support diversity in USA, mainly for family based immigration.

  The quota doesn't make sense for employment based immigration. EB immigration is to support economic growth of US, and to decrease the shortage of specific skills. So if the special skill is concentrated on one country, you might need more people from that country to decrease the shortage on that skill. Current country quotas doesn't allow this.

  In the category of EB2, where you need a "Masters Degree" or equivalent for a specific skill in shortage, the applicants from India has to wait for 19 years for a GC, to start working on that position. If you can find such skill in any other country, you can get that persons's GC in 2 months, and he can be employed in that position.

  The difference between 19 years to 2 months is too much. It is not logical for an employer to wait for 19 years to fill a highly skilled position.

  Removing the country quota for Employment Based categories will make sure equal opportunity, and equal competition.

  LEGAL immigration - not to be mixed with ILLEGAL immigration

  There are many issues with legal immigration, which are very simple issues, and can be solved with very acceptable policy changes. But these changes doesnt happen often because they are mixed with issues of "illegal" immigration. (CIR attempts in last few years). Illegal immigration is a very hot topic, and there are strong arguments from both sides. So CIR is a good thing. But please please.... separate out the "legal" ...more »

  There are many issues with legal immigration, which are very simple issues, and can be solved with very acceptable policy changes. But these changes doesnt happen often because they are mixed with issues of "illegal" immigration. (CIR attempts in last few years).

  Illegal immigration is a very hot topic, and there are strong arguments from both sides.

  So CIR is a good thing. But please please.... separate out the "legal" immigration issues and try to solve them separately. Issues of "legal" immigration can be solved easily out of "comprehensive immigration reform".
