How can Government representatives operate as efficiently as the private sector if they still get fat pensions for retirement? Corporate America long ago did away with pensions for the most part and instead went to the 401K savings program.
WE CANT AFFORD PAYING FOR YOUR CUSHY BENEFITS AND RETIREMENTS. WE MUST CUT THE COST TO THE TAXPAYER.
Why should government be any different? If you are to truly represent us, then you should not have special perks that come with the job... BE LIKE US... Be required to pay all state, federal and social security taxes, just like us. No pensions that let you retire at 52 with 70-80% of your salary for life for government employees (do 401K), NO Pensions for elected politicians at all... Term Limits for Politicians so they dont hang around forever trying to increase their power and relationships with lobbyists. Pay into all the same taxes we do.
