The mega church down the street just got new flat screen TVs and Blue Ray players. Can we start taxing religion now?

First, your statement about public information is flatly incorrect. I'm sure you're in favor of not releasing flag-draped coffins.

Please explain (and cite) how they're spending more to hide the photos. I was not aware that ignoring you had costs.

Also, could you recognize that withholding the photos is politically prudent on behalf of the administration? Is that what frustrates you? It's not like you actually want the picture for anything other than political potshots.
Moderator 8 months ago
So if they don't release them, you'll moan about how much they cost.

If they do release them, you'll moan about how much they cost.

Yeah...it's no surprise that you're being ignored. What you're doing is in no way productive.
Moderator 8 months ago
You'll damn them if they do and damn them if they don't.

I don't blame them for ignoring you.
Moderator 8 months ago
Free software doesn't cost anything either.

It's also a lot easier to idiot-proof / fix.
Moderator 8 months ago
The browser? What about the operating system??
Moderator 8 months ago
You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you John?
Moderator 8 months ago
MOAR CAPS!!!!1
Moderator 8 months ago
If George Bush had done those things, conservatives would have approved (or kept quiet).
Moderator 9 months ago
Yeah, you've got to be viciously stupid to not understand what's going on.

Yes, Obama is spending what seems to the layman like boatloads of money on lawyers. The thing is, running a presidential campaign and being president will costs more than you can imagine in lawyer fees. For anyone.

For some reason, they think it's all to cover up the conspiracy.

I'd like to put that number up next to how much Bush spent on lawyers.
Moderator 9 months ago
What is an antecedent? What does it mean to deny it? What impact does that have on conclusions drawn from those assumptions?
Moderator 9 months ago
You'd have to be pretty intelligent to come up with insults like these! Wow! Scathing!
Moderator 9 months ago
Spamming a message board is never a good way to get an idea across.
Moderator 9 months ago
Rooster,

I've already put your intellectual dishonesty on display for everyone to see.

So just sit there, deny the antecedent and shut up.
Moderator 9 months ago
Stop what? Seriously?

Stop posting the same thread half a dozen times.
Moderator 9 months ago
How is this relevant?
Moderator 9 months ago
"Which ones was she found guilty of?"

The report said those contacts amounted to an abuse of power and a violation of the state's ethics laws, which prohibit using public office for personal benefit.

I even made sure it was from a source like Fox News!

http://origin2.foxnews.com/wires/2008Oct11/0,4670,PalinTroopergate,00.html
Moderator 9 months ago
I love when Bible thumpers are found guilty of ethics violations.
Moderator 9 months ago
Stop.
Moderator 9 months ago
What is she hiding that's worth over 500,000???
Moderator 9 months ago
Come on...

1. If P then Q
2. not P
3. Therefore not Q
Moderator 9 months ago
You can't deny it, yet you can't admit it.

How sad...
Moderator 9 months ago
I think I already did that.

Doesn't change the fallacy upon which Rooster built his argument, does it?

If he sincerely admits it, I'll leave the board and never come back.
Moderator 9 months ago
Rooster, it's very telling that you cannot admit that your argument rests on obviously fallacious reasoning.
Moderator 9 months ago
tl;dr

sorry.
Moderator 9 months ago
No, we need moar birfers! Joseph Farah for prezident!

WEARS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE???
Moderator 9 months ago
You are so afraid of the facts it hurts you.

You can't even admit simple mistakes. I came clean and you're still harping on it to avoid admitting your simple, undeniable errors.

Be a man, Rooster, and tell me that you know you used fallacious reasoning in your argument yesterday.
Moderator 9 months ago
"I don't need to hide behind a fake name or title." - Big Rooster

You've got to admit, that's pretty funny.
Moderator 9 months ago
Me not being a moderator is every bit as obvious as you not being blackmonrikker.

It's for lulz, that's what's cool about it. And you know it.

But then you just took it too far. Not cool.
Moderator 9 months ago
Yeah, I'm not really a moderator. It has been blatantly obvious the whole time. You knew it, I knew it, but for some reason you played along, and in a way I appreciate that.

Now, do you realize that your argument yesterday rested upon the fallacy of negative proof (i.e. denial of the antecedent)?
Moderator 9 months ago
Oh, now that's just not cool...
Moderator 9 months ago
ooh...I'll moderate you so hard.
Moderator 9 months ago
Was your denial of the antecedent a lie?

Come on, be a big man and admit it.
Moderator 9 months ago
only in monrikker's case...
Moderator 9 months ago
Please stop calling me out. I want to work mah magic on a new group of crazies.
Moderator 9 months ago
Yeah, we both have really big important lives, that's why we both spend so much time here senselessly bickering.

Anyways...did you ever put any thought into denying the antecedent?
Moderator 9 months ago
Yeah, you see the big blue and pink boxes up above? That's where real moderators make announcements.

Big Rooster, enough is enough.
Moderator 9 months ago
Investigate what? We're investigating YOU.
Moderator 9 months ago
Most of it you don't even see I boot it so fast.

This stuff isn't on my radar. You're more of a curiosity than a threat, which is why I let you stay around.
Moderator 9 months ago
You're the liar and I believe a federal investigation will prove me correct. You'd better hope the feds don't find out you did this.
Moderator 9 months ago
We're investigating and will get to the bottom of this.
Moderator 9 months ago
Because he posted it using his sockpuppet "Moderator" account.

Or maybe just because he likes it?

Big Rooster, impersonating a moderator and posting pornography is a serious offense, you'd be best to tread lightly from here on out.
Moderator 9 months ago
rotfl@Rooster...I got you to post porn
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster? More like big chicken...
Moderator 9 months ago
Go ahead and post one. It's not like you can't make a new account the moment I boot you.

The only reason you won't is because deep down you know I am a moderator with very serious power.
Moderator 9 months ago
As much as I would love to give him the boot, I can't flex the massive power I wield just to satisfy the curiosity of random conspiracy theorists.

You want proof, Rooster? Go ahead and call my "bluff". Post some porn and see if I don't give you the boot within 30 seconds.
Moderator 9 months ago
As I said before, we moderate death threats, personal information, pornography, state secrets, etc... not every whack job with a sharp tongue.

Put up or shut up and respect my authority.
Moderator 9 months ago
Rooster,

What positive evidence do you have for me not being a moderator?

There's only one way to settle this...How about you go ahead and post some pornographic links and you'll find out?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

Can you, with a clear conscious, deny my assessment of your argument?
Moderator 9 months ago
Rooster,

Much like the birfer conspiracy, you have no positive evidence for your assertions.

Would you like to review the argument from silence?

Would you like to discuss the concept of onus probandi in the context of discourse?
Moderator 9 months ago
We moderate death threats, personal information, pornography, state secrets, etc... not every whack job with a sharp tongue.

Please get over yourself.
Moderator 9 months ago
The argument from silence occurs when you draw a positive conclusion (that you believe I am not a moderator) from the lack of contrary evidence.

It is very similar to the fallacious argument made by many birfers, that since Obama is not bothering with their baseless accusations, the baseless accusations must therefore be true.
Moderator 9 months ago
My silence on my status as a moderator (or lack thereof) does not prove me to be a liar.

You are committing the fallacy of "argumentum ex silentio". Would you like to learn about this fallacy also?
Moderator 9 months ago
John and Big Rooster,

If you lived in Hawaii and I requested your birth certificate from the Department of Health, would they "order" that your "birth certificate" (i.e. COLB) be "sealed"?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

You are not the sharpest tool in the shed, and you sure are stubborn, but you will not lie in an attempt to undermine the validity of assessment of your argument.

I sincerely respect that.
Moderator 9 months ago
In short, your allegations could not possibly affect the misleading nature of the claim that the "Gov of Hawaii ordered [Obama's] Birth Records,[sic] sealed".
Moderator 9 months ago
And that affects my assessment of your argument how?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

How could any of your allegations possibly affect the misleading nature of the claim that the "Gov of Hawaii ordered [Obama's] Birth Records,[sic] sealed"?
Moderator 9 months ago
In short, you cannot deny the logic of my assessment of your argument (which I have clearly shown to be based on fallacious reasoning).

It is interesting that you are only now unwilling to engage in further discourse.
Moderator 9 months ago
You will not admit it, but will you deny that your statement is misleading, as any Hawaiian birth certificate would be ordered to be sealed?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

How would any of this affect the validity of my assessment of your argument?

Do you deny the validity of my assessment of your argument?
Moderator 9 months ago
Regardless of whether or not I am posing or lying, would my posing or lying affect the validity of my assessment of your argument?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

Please remain calm and identify the lie in my analysis of your argument.
Moderator 9 months ago
Do you acknowledge that your statement is misleading, as any Hawaiian birth certificate would be ordered to be sealed?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

A mature thing to do would be:

1) Attempt to refute my analysis of your argument.

2) Acknowledge the fallacy upon which your argument based.

3) Stop talking.

Please remain calm and pick one.
Moderator 9 months ago
John,

You said "After the POTUS's last trip to Hawaii, the Gov of Hawaii ordered his Birth Records, sealed."

Do you now agree that your statement is inaccurate (or at least misleading)?
Moderator 9 months ago
If you need any more help understanding why your argument is demonstrably bankrupt of logic, please ask. Thanks.
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

I'm going to try and make this simple for you...

Your argument is:

1. If evidence for the loss or destruction of the birth certificate in question has been observed then the birth certificate in question has been lost or destroyed.

2. Evidence for the loss or destruction of the birth certificate in question has not been observed.

3. Therefore evidence for the loss or destruction of the birth certificate in question does not exist and consequently Obama possesses the birth certificate in question.

You are committing the formal fallacy of denying the antecedent. It's not really something you can argue about.

Please remain calm.
Moderator 9 months ago
As per your source, the birth certificate is not sealed, it is available to "the person born, or "registrant" according to the legal description from the governor's office, the spouse or parent of the registrant, a descendant of the registrant, a person having a common ancestor with the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, or a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant."

Or if you insist on the term "sealed" then would you agree that every birth certificate in the state of Hawaii is "sealed"?
Moderator 9 months ago
In what year did Obama find the birth certificate you desperately desire?

You said: "did you hear anyone make claim [sic] that it has been lost or destroyed"

Well, did you hear anyone "make claim" that it has not been lost or destroyed?

What makes you think he still has it? Simply the lack of evidence pointing to the conclusion that he does not?

Are you familiar with syllogisms? Do you know what it means to deny the antecedent?
Moderator 9 months ago
Clarification: You have no evidence whatsoever for the claim that the birth certificate you desire is still in his possession.
Moderator 9 months ago
Is there anything that would evidence the claim that the birth certificate you desire is still in his possession?

Or are you simply speculating?
Moderator 9 months ago
Not that this will satisfy you, but anyway...

http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/20090606_kokua_line.html
Moderator 9 months ago
You were not "censored", you simply made inappropriate and duplicate posts.
Moderator 9 months ago
As much as it pains you, please try to answer the question.

Is the COLB an official birth certificate?
Moderator 9 months ago
Big Rooster,

Thank you for toning it down. Please try to answer this question:

According to the Hawaiian Department of Health, is a certification of live birth an official birth certificate in the state of Hawaii?

Hint: http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/20090606_kokua_line.html
Moderator 9 months ago
I am all for sticking to the facts!

Is a COLB an official birth certificate?

According to Janice Okabu, spokesperson for the Hawaiian Department of Health, yes.

Now you try: Is a COLB an official birth certificate for the state of Hawaii?
Moderator 9 months ago
The point is, he requested his birth certificate from the state of Hawaii, they gave it to him, he posted it. Just like you asked.

Final warning on the personal attacks before I boot you, Rooster. I know you want to stick around, so let's be careful.
Moderator 9 months ago
Seeing as how it would be impossible for him to lose that birth certificate, you make a great point, Rooster...oh wait...
Moderator 9 months ago
blackmonrikker,

Looks like your spoofer is about to be taken care of...
Moderator 9 months ago
Yes, it is a paperless COLB because that is the official birth certificate of Hawaii.

From the horses mouth: http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/20090606_kokua_line.html

Any more personal attacks, Rooster, and you're out of here.
Moderator 9 months ago
Of course, everyone has their original copy of their birth certificate...that's why there's no need to print out new certifications...oh wait...
Moderator 9 months ago
Hawaii Department of Health Spokesperson Janice Okubo:

...you can't obtain a "certificate of live birth" anymore. The state Department of Health no longer issues copies of paper birth certificates as was done in the past...The department only issues "certifications" of live births, and that is the "official birth certificate" issued by the state of Hawaii...And, it's only available in electronic form.

http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/20090606_kokua_line.html

Looks like they went paperless in 2001...this conspiracy is a lot moar deeply rooted than we had thought!!!1

Keep it going, birfers! You guys are hilarious!

Thank Zeus for birfers to laugh at!

In some respects, churches are a business just like any other. They do pretty well, too. The money has got to come from somewhere. I don't see how it's fair to let them off scot-free. Can someone explain?
Moderator 9 months ago
Flagged as SPAM.

And if you're going to copy and paste, please include your source(s).
Moderator 9 months ago
perhaps due to inappropriate language or the insistence on duplicate/irrelevant topics?
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

Have you researched Robert Gibbs?

Do you now know who he speaks for?

Has he said that the BC posted online is that of BHO?
Moderator 9 months ago
we_spencer,

I continue to ask because you will not answer.

You ask for the birth certificate that you will not believe is authentic. It seems rather pointless and desperate.
Moderator 9 months ago
carpenturr1,

I am sorry that you are unwilling (perhaps unable?) to engage in civil discourse.

I will refrain from further correspondence with you. Please do me the same courtesy.
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

I'll see what I can find for you. Likewise, please provide me with a citation for the account of the wrinkled birth certificate.

Saying "it's in his bio" doesn't count. I think he has three of them and they're all very long.

You are not familiar with the page number? Or chapter? Did you actually read it? Or did you just hear about the account?
Moderator 9 months ago
carpenturr1,

Please remain civil. I have reported your personal attacks to the administrators.
Moderator 9 months ago
carpenturr1,

One can comment without immediately assuming to paranoia-induced delusions.

Please do watch your language.

cashman57,

You do not know who Robert Gibbs speaks for?
Moderator 9 months ago
drubertini,

Am I correct that the birth certificate is not being asked for by you?
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

I am not familiar with the account of the wrinkled birth certificate, please provide a complete citation.

And for argument's sake, would you please posit that it is impossible to lose a birth certificate?
Moderator 9 months ago
drubertini,

So asking for the birth certificate is kind of a silly thing to do, huh?

You have created an unfalsifiable hypothesis.
Moderator 9 months ago
dobropet,

Ok, so you would not believe it was real if it was posted online.

How do you propose it be released to your satisfaction?
Moderator 9 months ago
drubertini,

You did not directly answer the question.

Would you accept it as real? Or do you already know it is a fake and are not willing to believe otherwise?
Moderator 9 months ago
dobropet,

If Obama posted his long form birth certificate online, would you believe it was real?
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

No other notarized/authorized birth certificate would suffice?
Moderator 9 months ago
drubertini,

You are saying that you would not believe it?
Moderator 9 months ago
drubertini,

If Obama actually did release the long form online, would you believe it was real?
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

Does Robert Gibbs speak on behalf of Obama?

Did Robert Gibbs claim that the posted birth certificate is Obama's?
Moderator 9 months ago
cashman57,

If Obama posted his long form birth certificate online (and claimed it was his), would you believe it was real?
Moderator 9 months ago
How could the new one be authenticated if the old one cannot? Please explain.
Moderator 9 months ago

Please state the title of this thread.

Moderator 9 months ago
I just want one conspiracy theorist to answer: If he released the long form online, would you believe it was real?
Moderator 9 months ago
It's such a great idea, it just needs to be much more heavily moderated to avoid domination by conspiracy theorists.
Moderator 9 months ago
If Obama threw up a copy of the long form, would you instantly stop with the conspiracy theorizing? Or would you doubt the document's authenticity?
Moderator 9 months ago
I can see the headlines on WorldNutDaily now...

"Obama releases fake long form birth certificate!"
Moderator 9 months ago
The point is that right wing extremists will not acknowledge the authenticity of any document Obama releases, therefore releasing such a document is a fool's errand that he will not perform.
Moderator 9 months ago
If Obama did release the long form you so desperately desire, it would not satisfy you.

Surely, the right wing extremists would cast aspersions on the veracity of any document released.

Obama simply refuses to play games like the conservative extremists.
Moderator 9 months ago
Your incessant name calling is inappropriate, Ricardo. I have flagged and reported your activity.
Moderator 9 months ago
It's unAmerican to not want the best person for the job. If that person is foreign-born, so be it.

No one is more anti-American than a conservative.
Moderator 9 months ago
ricardo, your personal attacks have been reported. Please try to be more productive or find another forum.
Moderator 9 months ago
Is this topic a duplicate of the one you made a few topics down?
Moderator 9 months ago
probably because I'm flagging it as a duplicate. Mostly because it is, but a little because I want to censor you.
Moderator 9 months ago
Is there any reason other than xenophobia for the requirement?

If the best person for the job happens to be foreign-born we're just out of luck?
Moderator 9 months ago
It's important that we let people like jnkmori remain direly obsessed with this "controversy".

This "controversy" has single-handedly isolated and marginalized what is left of the extreme right. As long as they remain focused on something completely irrelevant like this, we can get a lot more done.
Moderator 9 months ago
The birth certificate "controversy" is the final nail in the coffin for American conservatives.

Cons: Please remain focused on this issue.

Obama: Please do not release your documents so that these loons have something to theorize about instead of being relevant.
Moderator 9 months ago
The problem is that most Americans are too stupid to realize that the president doing anything costs tens of thousands of dollars and it's absolutely necessary. I suspect the nature of this request is to mislead the public about the cost of Obama's travel. Conservatives seem to have a very short memory/attention span these days. I like it. Stay marginalized!
Moderator 9 months ago
The imperial system of measurements is unarguably outdated and unnecessary. Unfortunately, the cost of switching will be a focal point of conservatives and the benefits are lost on them.

It's the same reason we're still using suboptimal QWERTY keyboards.
Moderator 9 months ago
The short form satisfies all requirements by the State Department. Obama is under no obligation to release the long form.

This refusal keeps the conspiracy theorists busy and marginalized. It also provides me with endless lulz.
