And at least lets face it, when it comes to the really small, nanometers are already used (for instance processor and advanced electronics production), aside from the fact that it is much more easy to understand and use(1Meter=10Decimeters=100Centimeters=1000Milimeters=1*10^9Nanometers), its not base on the length of the thumb of feet of a long dead british king...
Obviusly this change wouldnt be made over nigth but will have a transition period(kind of like when most countries in europe changed their currency to the euro)
I belive this would make a stronger better america in the medium/long run...

Currently no tecnology may be shared with no one(and i belive this ban even includes tables and bolts) in order to prevent hostile countries to create advanced missile weaponry...
In view of north korea missile testing spree its not like that they wont be able to develop a missile tecnology, even if we include
Since industries thrive on standardisation, sharing non sensitive techs will increase and improve the space agency projects(with other agencys), save Billions in process, help private ventures in the area and avoid many headaches for engineers and scientists.
Some tecnologies can remain in ban but only thouse who can really be used in missile building.
I sugest asking someone who really understands the agency needs and what parts are sensitive to compile a list of banned and non-banned items intead of a bureaucrat that probably will ban simple tables yet again...
