The Stimulus act of 2009 was 178,000 words long. More than 1500 pages. No one read it.

The Highway creation act of 1956 was only 4000 words and that created the highways and freeways we use today.

Enough said.
Sometimes the people can not wait for an election to get rid of a bad leader.

The people should have the ability to recall their district's representatives and senators.

I do understand it. Under the OLD terms you have the right to reject NEW terms by opting out. They also do have the RIGHT to change terms with notice... You agreed to this when you signed up! If you don't like it, then it is YOUR fault for not reading the contract or understanding what you were signing.

If you reject the NEW terms, they have the right to close the account to new charges and YOU can pay off the account under the OLD terms. But by making new charges, you accept the new terms.

All this is in the contract you agreed to when you signed up. If you do not like how they are conducting business, then vote with your dollars and close the account and open an account somewhere else.

What you are asking for is already in place. RTFC!

The government required that they make this change 6 years ago. You have had six years to get out of it. Your origional agreement allowed you to opt out. They ALL did. They have the right to close the account to new charges and allow you continue to make payments.

Re-read your agreement. Its there.

There is no reason for anyone to see that data beyond police. You should have NO right to know what I keep in my safe. Police as well. NONE. It's call the right to privacy. Just as I do not have a right to know what happens in your bed room, you have no right to know what is in my safe.

Guns are legal and no one should be privy to know what I own.

Your idea is already the way things work Alessandro. You can read my reply on your idea.

People already have the right to opt out. They can pay off the balance and close the account. There is no need to change how this works. Closing a card always effects your credit score and it should! You made a change to your lenders, therefore your rating MUST change.

A true democracy? Really? Keep in mind that a pure democracy is best described as two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. AKA Mob rule.

No. This is a disastrous idea. You really need to read your history and the Federalist Papers.

"All we need is talk and negotiation"? Are you for real? I nominate Cancerhand to be the chief envoy to Osama Bin Laden. Let's see how long it is before Cancerhand is on a terrorist videotape having his head removed.

As far as the idea of banning guns, let me quote one of MY past president, Chuck Heston: "FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!" And unlike Mr. Heston, I do not use muskets.

They do not HAVE to do it through the ballot box. If government become abusive, we do the right, nay DUTY to remove it by what ever means necessary. I would advise you to read the Declaration of Independence. We did throw off the last tyrants by war.

Nick, while agree about the Bonus March, I think you might want to look read about another bit of history just after WW2. Google "Battle of Athens" in Tenn. and read about what happened to a tyrant sheriff that ran a ballot fraud operation openly.
