The default can be that everything is retrieved, as it currently is, but if a person wants to read the latest ideas, instead of wading through SPAM (e.g., rachel is posting the same thing several times an hour), they should be given the ability to do so...
a) Include a 'Filter' - this website is saturated daily with counterproductive ranting (e.g., on the citizenship of Obama, etc). Anyone who want to attempt to articulate constructive ideas must first wade through tons of SPAM first. A Filter can be developed to refine the search criterion to NOT include certain words, or if you put more than one word within quotes (e.g., 'Obama is not a citizen' ,'Birth Certificate', etc) you can include phrases to filter out all posts during retrieval that contain the items that I've described
b) The way a person votes should be anomynous. If you publish the fact that a person voted against a person's idea, there's a very good chance that there's going to be a lot of people out there looking for retribution, instead of giving a thumbs up or thumbs down based on the merit of a person's idea
