The following post shows stats of 1198 "For" and 370 "Against." Since when does 1198 minus 370 = 72?. Is ACORN running the site?

Mr Obama should order open access to his birth certificate and clarify his status immediately. If he CAN remove the doubt about his qualifications, why not do it? If he doesn't, most people will take it as proof that he is NOT legally qualified to be president.

Unfrigginbelievable. I knew this act was designed to create a generation of drab-grey uniform-wearing youth who while getting paid for "volunteering" will jump at the chance for few extra bucks not realizing that they (or their parents - because, remember a minor can't legally enter into a contract) are signing away their 1st amendment rights. What other rights will they give up? Kinda reminds you of someone, doesn't it?

Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) responded to my question on the issue by affirming that the Constitution does indeed mandate that the Office of the President of the United States be occupied by a natural born Citizen, but that "The Constitution, however, does not specify how that qualification for office is to be enforced." He references the Berg v. Obama case that was brought before the courts in October which was dismissed, after which he states "The court further noted that voters, not courts, should decide whether a particular presidential candidate is qualified to hold office."

I am like...WTF? Here is Berg, A VOTER, asking for documentation to support a decision one way or another and he is (as well as others) SLAPPED DOWN at every turn. How can ANY VOTER make a judgement when we are denied access to the documentation that can settle the issue once and for all.

I just have to reiterate what has been said over and over...why NOT release the long form, vault, copy or whatever you want to call it? Whatever legal copy that tells us where he was born, not where his birth is "registered." I mean geeeeez, the Senate investigated McCain's citizenship even though he was born of two natural born Citizens one of which was assigned to serve this very country on the foriegn soil at the time of his birth.

The BC is only one of the many questionables that surround this man. I know there are many "conspiracy theorists" that will follow any and ever rumor, assumption and crazy writing or utterance to prove themselves right, but I am not one of them. It is very reasonable that we, the voters, should have access to documents to clarify legitimate questions of Citizenship and - dare I say it - radical affiliations.

This is all very bizarre, indeed.

"prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceding."

No one questions the fact that he was BORN. We just don't know WHERE he was born. I have seen many testimonies that Hawaii issues these COLB's to just about anyone who asks for them.

Somwhere there is a long form BC. Why can they not release it?

That's just it...We who saw the red warning flags months ago because of the BC and other lies expected no less than a policy of lies. Hiding his BC and college transcripts were just the beginning...He needs to be exposed.

Iran needs nuclear power like they need more sand in the desert. But then again they may just be protecting themselves from "Cap, Trade and Rape." Not.

Establishment clause: Constitutional Anathema:

For years, the Separation of Church and State issue has been gnawed on even though there is absolutely no such provision in the Constitution of the United States of America.

The “Establishment” clause reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

The current courts’ interpretation has twisted this clause in such a way that the clause is anathema to itself. It’s like that commericial that is on TV… Guy walks into a dry cleaner with a shirt and tells the attendant “I want it starched and not starched.” The attendent asks, “what part do you want starched and what part do your want not starched?” The man replies “All of it.”

What are these people thinking? You can’t have it both ways and all of it at the same time!

One article on the subject of Separation describes it this way:

“During the last generation, the courts, at all levels, have ruled in ways that essentially guarantee the freedom from religion, instead of the freedom of religion.” ChristainAnswers.net

Establishment -

This word can be used as one of the following, depending on the context*:

the act or an instance of establishing. (literal)
the state or fact of being established. (literal)
the recognition by a state of a church as the state church.
So that begs the question: Has government been ruled out of the business of legislating…

…the act or an instance of establishing a religion?
I think as a literal phrase and in the context of the evacuation of England by our country’s first founders and citizen, this makes sense.
…the state or fact of religion being established?
No, the founders were overwhelmingly religious. They were determined to have their churches. They would go on to excercise their religious freedom by establishing churches, having been unfettered by the tinkering of the government. This was the point of the clause.
…the recognition by a state of a church as the state church.
The founders prayed in private, public, and yes, even government gatherings. The first community schools used the Bible as one of their primary subjects of study. These acts on the part of the founders and early citizens did not constitute recognition of a state church then.
Anathema. You can’t have it both ways.

*These are 3 of 12 definitions that are either literal, or relate closest in historical context to Constitutional issues.

You've been watching too much Michael Moore...The stats you refer to rely heavily on how $$ free treatment was for the care recipient, not on the QUALITY of care. Many a foreigner has come to the US to get the very best treatment possible and/or avoid long waiting periods (caused by government rationing and lack of healthcare professionals willing to work for governemnt wages) for diagnostics and treatment.

OMG... Regrettably you are a statistic that will never be recognized. It makes me weep...

I thought the point of longer shifts was to provide an extended continuity of care. Two shifts vs. three = one less opportunity for something critical to fall between the cracks.

Yeah, law-abiding citizens do not get as much practice with guns, so only those who own them illegally should have them. What is ya? Ignant?

For sure. 72 hours (business hours) is a MINIMUM. I rather thing 5 business days is not too much to ask. Ya'll will just have wrap up your debates early in the session or vote remotely somehow. There should be NO excuse for curtailing the public time to review.
