To boost certain ideas above others. What's the deal? When there were barely 1000 votes 2 days ago, and now the top "vote-getter" is over 1000 votes all by itself... who are you trying to fool? Where is the TRANSPARENCY on how the votes are re-tabulated?

Gibbs must have mis-spoken or something else(lied? no).

The State of Hawaii has never provided or released a birth certificate to anyone, they have stated that even the Governor of Hawaii could not release it, and that ONLY Obama himself would have the authority to do it.

Isn't it great how his Democrat-Majority Congress slammed him on the Gitmo closing funds? I had to laugh out loud. He thinks he's a dictator!("I won", implying that his was the only opinion that counted).

Actually, he got happy comments from Hugo Chavez, that said he(Chavez) and Castro are just to the "right" of Obama, and praised Obama's government takeover of a humongous private company like GM.

Actually this situation is addressed in the 10th and 12th Ammendments to the US Constitution, and even if a "constitutional disability" arose due to Obama not categorized as being a "Natural Born Citizen" as prescribed, the Congress can "overcome" this "disability" by a simple 2/3 majority vote and he will remain President. Unpopular? Maybe, but still President.

That's why I don't understand exactly why Obama doesn't just get this over with, except that the people focusing on it are not paying as close attention to the other stuff he's doing.

btw, I voted + on this post, because it needs to be discussed.

to Original Poster,

How quickly would this go away if Obama would just stop stalling? He is the only one that has access, and the only one can provide Transparency in this matter. Why doesn't he just get it over with?

I don't agree with the duplicate posting, but isn't that what it will take to get an answer? People feel like they are not being heard, and where is the Transparency in that? Isn't that what this website is all about? The average joe being heard?

It's true that some of these people are also being disrespectful, but I've seen the ACLU and a LOT of politicians excuse that behavior when the truth is at hand. Rosa Parks was disrespectful, but correct.

Please respond.

Thanks.

marty_austx stated: "This is a forum for new ideas that will help make our great country even better. Instead of something constructive, you have chosen to smear with a lame conspiracy theory. People tried the same thing with Senator McCain because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. Having to deal with garbage like this is why many citizens avoid public service.

http://www.fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate"

Marty, I think you totally misunderstand the point and the facts. John McCain had to go before a Senate Committee to prove his "Natural Born" status due to being born in the Panama Canal Zone. Why didn't Obama have to do the same? Why doesn't he just put an end to all this once and for all and release his actual birth certificate? Even if the one that was photoshopped and put on the Daily Kos long before it appeared on Obama's own website is a valid Certification, the computer printout with very basic information on it is not what people want to see. The actual birth certificate on file in Hawaii that no one can access is the hand-written one with the doctor's and hospital's names on it. Why waste all our time with this? That is on Obama to release it, as Hawaii stated that even the Governor of Hawaii didn't have the power to release it. Obama is spending over a million dollars to make certain it ISN'T released. That just begs the question why, especially in the light of testimony from several family members that his citizenship is elsewhere. The truth of the matter is that if he had released it after being elected, the 12th Ammendment allows for Congress to override the "natural born" requirement by a 2/3 majority vote, so why not release it no matter what? They can overturn this "constitutional disability" and he stays elected anyway. He is keeping the scandal going, not the people who want a simple answer.

You can't tie the hands of citizens to support whom they choose, that's ridiculous!

You are still taking the citizen's money, just distributing it evenly, so the citizen has to say, once again, that their own money does not represent them.

Why shouldn't I be able to support whomever I choose? You want to take that freedom of choice away. I say no!

That Robin-Hood-mentality is what is bankrupting the country now.

And was it intentional that all the links from the Whitehouse blog linked to an non-existing site http://opengov.ideascale.gov/ instead of the real site http://opengov.ideascale.com/ ?
This morning I tried to access it from the Whitehouse blog and kept getting an error message. I thought they took the site down due to the overwhelming majority of people wanting Obama to actually be transparent.
I personally think that by transparent, he means "go away and act like you're transparent so I can do whatever I want without interference from the citizens who elected me."

WOW!!! After my post, all of a sudden the top rated comment went from over 1000 to 402!!!!!!!
How does that happen in the period of 3 or 4 minutes?

Protect the whistleblowers on this site from having their posts scrubbed. There would be a different order of top posts if free exchange of ideas weren't trashed on this site and by this administration!

I agree that there is a problem currently with people getting settled into their position with no competition, and the masses can be fooled into thinking that the elected person is actually doing something good for them. The only problem with limiting the terms is that you take away the rights of the common people to elect the right person for the job. Perhaps a 20 year mandatory retirement would be better or something similar to that.

Just for those whjo don't know, snopes.com is simply a very liberal husband/wife couple who put up a website. Period. Anyone can do it. It's not an agency and nobody verifies what they say. Just two people with opinions doling out their own take on things. Sometimes accurate, usually skewed by personal opinion like every other website and news outlet on the web.

"I guess mensans have trouble with spelling."

or they don't use a spell schecker, OR they really meant MESANS.

Quick Google search brings up these 2 possibilities.

1. People that live on Mesas.

2. In RPG games, "Humanoid, smaller than average Terrans, but with a slightly longer lifespan. Mesans are mostly noted for their 4 fingers per hand (3 fingers, 1 thumb) and their unique spinal bone structure which gives them a double pronounced ridge along their back."
