Get the government out of personal / victimless decisions

A growing percentage of the population feels spied upon and intruded upon by the constantly expanding government. The government continues to make decisions for adults in the same manner that adults make decisions for infants - this results in people feeling impotent, without personal freedom, and without recourse. This in turn can result in drastic increases in the percentage of mentally ill displaying symptons of ...more »

Get the government out of private business

That's right. Get out! The government's meddling in business directly lead to the housing bust and the credit crisis, thereby directly causing 2 of the big 3 automakers to go bust and be taken over by the government, which will now DICTATE how these "private" businesses operate. Get out! and you want to take over the healthcare industry, which is about 17% of our economy. Get OUT! We know this is about ...more »

Transform Relationship with Native Americans

When American activists try to bring up with the Chinese government the human rights issue of Tibet's oppression, their general reply is, "When you address the unresolved issues with Native Americans, then we'll talk." Obama was the first US president to ever visit a Native American reservation while on campaign. And still, at the inauguration, there was no ceremonial presence or mention of the people who originally ...more »

DOOMSDAY PROVISION

"The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed--where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, ...more »

My Society: Our Problems Need Not Be Government Problems

Invest in Web 2.0 tools to help people create transparent, flexible, Do-It-Yourself communities. Essentially, we have the technology to create our own communities with many of the benefits associated with cooperation and exchange, such as pooled resources, civic institutions, social capital, and cultural capital. We should use it and education to empower individuals, communities, and society at large. Although we can ...more »

Making Government Operations More Open

STOP hiding behind national security

There is no open government without a clear directive from the executive (backed by congress) in support of a free and open internet and the prosecution of officials that have hidden their criminal activity behind the veil of national security. 1. There is no amount of government transparency that will erase years of torture, illegal wiretapping, warrantless surveillance, the suspension of habeus corpus, the targeting ...more »

Environment

Why is that citizens are the one's that are punished and fined to support the EPA while letting the real polluters go with not so much as a slap on the wrist. Our vehiles have to be smogged costing us at least $45.00 per vehicle and that is if all testing passes. Factories and large production facilites have caused 99% of the damage to our environment, our wildlife, and our water. I have done extensive research just ...more »

What's driving the continued skyrocketing gun sales?

It began last October as citizens began to sense that the 2008 elections would bring the most anti-gun partisans to Washington in U.S. history. Their hunch was correct. November of '08 witnessed a sweep into D.C. of Senators, Congressmen, and a President that were all on record supporting strict gun control, many of whom had even supported an outright ban of all handguns in America. http://www.examiner.com/x-3704-Columbia-Conservative-Examiner~y2009m6d18-Whats-driving-the-continued-skyrocketing-gun-sales ...more »

Change 'In God We Trust' to 'Trust Truth, Freedom, Love'

The word God can mean many things to different people. I believe in one god and I think Truth, Freedom, Love sums God up realy well. There seem to be to many people out there that believe in a God of lies, slavery, and hate and I do not want some people who reject God because of lies, slavery, and hate preached by some, to think I have any thing to do with a so called God. Because my God is a God of Truth, Freedom, Love. ...more »

Strategic Planning and Budgeting

Free Obama (No Kidding)

I spent the morning reading every single posted idea, many of the comments, and then posted my own five ideas and thought to leave it at that. However, during the mowing of the lawn it came to me. Idea first, then the short explanation Free Obama. Simple, straight-forward, and the ONE THING that we can all focus on to achieve ALL of the ideas posted so far. Right now, President Barack Obama is president in name ...more »
