I disagreeAnonymity is a foundation for political speech. But the UK has done away with it.
Do not let this happen in the USA. Our government watches other governments to see what they can get away with, then follows suit. All over the globe, this happens, and people are ground down to dollars and dust.

Obama is excited about the robust debate in Iran. Mistake.
He's breaking promises faster than he made them, and this exercise in open government will be a major insult if nothing genuine comes of it.
A few new websites with pages for comment isn't going to get it.
He must answer. Or he stirs the pot and walks away. I don't think it will settle well so long as the heat is on.

MR. BURTON: When we land the President will be greeted on arrival by Governor Doyle, Congressman Kagan, and Mayors Schmitt and Barrettt of Green Bay and Milwaukee. At the high school he'll be greeted by the school superintendent, Gregg Mass, and Principal Brian Davis and his wife, Dawn, and their four daughters. He'll have a couple of small meetings, one before and one after, with grassroots activists and local political leaders.
A couple facts about Wisconsin and Green Bay: In Green Bay unemployment is at 8.4 percent; Wisconsin as a whole, 8.6 percent; Green Bay has lost 5,400 jobs since December of '07. Wisconsin is a state, 137,500; and the rate of uninsured in Wisconsin is 8.5 percent.

Q The activists that he's meeting with afterwards, how long will that be and who are they?

The meeting afterwards are leaders -- I don't have the full list with me, but it includes the Lieutenant Governor, Barbara Lawton and some others.
Q I'm sorry, activists on health care that he's meeting with before?
MR. BURTON: No, no, no, just local grassroots activists, people who are involved in the community in different ways.

This is a demonstration of the actual thought processes in the Administrative Ranks.
Until they are actually committed to Open Government, there won't be one no matter what Obama says.
Continue to press for Open Government and point out these weaknesses in the support for it.

Repeal 16th Amendment: Taxing income is bad business, permits deductive manipulation for those who can afford it, demands excessive record keeping, created the demon institution known as I.R.S., and provides avenues for cheaters.
Move to Sales Tax.
New Amendment:
Federal Government may apply up to and not beyond a 10% sales tax. This replaces all other taxes. Excise taxes, and taxes disguised as fees, licenses, etc., are prohibited.
Federal Government shall remain within its budget. If it needs more money, it may petition either the states, or God if he is so inclined. If 10% is good enough for God, surely it is good enough for the Federal Government who's territory is smaller.
Corporations may apply to God for Loans, Give aways, attorney fees, and redemption.

I disagreeDescribe analysis that fails to capture the meaning of brainstorming, that washes it of all true conflict, praise it, and close comments.

I disagreeThe judicial system tried to escape their obligation by tasking congress with failure for defining eminent domain. That was a judicial failure.
Now, congress fails to correct. That is a congressional failure.
The executive branch should support Kelo reform by use of a public posting of use:
Who initiated eminent domain
When
Why
Succeed Fail
What public use was made of the property.

I disagreeRather than permitting discussion of what was presented in stage one, limit the conversation in stage two. Obama offer three concepts. Transparency, participation, collaboration. I disagreeThe OSTP Blog demands full names on the internet. This is a known security risk, and an improper request. The public is not sitting behind federal security guards. Politics is a volatile issue, it is simply unwise to put a genuine name out there. Who decided that this website was a proper exercise of Obama's memo? It isn't.
Like it or not, demanding accountability from government is a proper use of a public forum. The fault lies with NAPA, not those who demand the birth certificate. (I am not one of those)
The most minimal effort in design of this website could have saved it. There was no genuine support for the idea behind Obama's memo.
The discussion phase is an exercise in petty administrative power to defeat the memo's intent.
Start over, start with a real design, start with people who support the intent, and hurry up. The 120 days is up.
