The purpose of the site is to promote Open Government Dialogue, with Transparency of making Government Operations More Open. At issue is the lack of Transparency with recent call for “Pay-As-You-Go” by Mr. Obama. In Mr. Obama’s announcement of “Pay-As-You-Go” he said the following:
“The 'pay as you go' rule is very simple. Congress can only spend a dollar if it saves a dollar elsewhere. And this principle guides responsible families managing a budget.”
“Paying for what you spend is basic common sense. Perhaps that's why, here in Washington, it's been so elusive.”
However, Mr. Obama does not mention he is exempting $2.5 trillion from his version of “Pay-As-You-Go”. Mr. Obama's $2.5 trillion is for his own priority agenda items, one of which is paying for part of his Health Care plan. Nor does Mr. Obama mention that his version of “Pay-As-You-Go” will allow spending increases by creating news taxes or increasing existing taxes. Thus bypassing the spirit of "Pay-As-You-Go".
Mr. Obama’s lack of support for full disclosure of the exceptions to his version of “Pay-As-You-Go” does nothing to lead or promote the government to be transparent and open to the Citizens of this Republic.
Vote this “Idea” up if you feel that NO elected representatives or government employees should fail to disclose important aspects of policies, actions, or legislation that has impact on the Citizens of this Republic.
