I don't think there are enough insane American voters to elect any of the current Republican crop to the presidency. You've got two years - at most - to straighten out what's left of the GOP before the 2012 campaign kicks off.

Face it, the UN is not really taken seriously by any country. Other than some of it's humanitarian work, it's a convient place for countries to talk but, really nothing more than that.

Steve...They are transporting and storing un vehicles in this country....I haver seen them.....They are training military hit squads to take out any Americans that do not submit to un control during "martial law" during a "civil unreast"....I ve seen video footage with a young punk soldier.....who didnt respect his elders....attacking and disarming an old woman who was on her own property in her own house during katrina,,,,,, while at the same time just a few miles away.......poeple were DYING of heat exposure because they said they just couldnt get there fast enough....( but they could get to this womans home fast eough to abuse her over HER gun) all Im saying is look around and smell the hamburger burning......

I know about each of those items you posted about. You assembled a few unrelated items, misrepresented the basic facts in each case, twisted and force fit them together into a paranoid whole. What you have there is an amalgamation of half truths adding up to one big lie - The Big Lie told by the lunatic fringe rightwing, pounding this same drumbeat every single day, and hoping that more and more of the loose cannons within your ranks will snap. You don't personally want to take the risk, but you do hope there are enough others with loose screws out there who, deciding they have nothing left to lose, take violent action. And you hope that if enough crazies will do this, it will tip the country into civil unrest.

gypsy_sage - First off the wasn't remotly involved in Katrina. The US unfortunately has a habit of loaning equipment to the UN. While on loan, they are painted with UN colors. The vehicles belong to the US military. And, having had the misfourtune of being tasked to a UN operation in Africa, the the UN is not militarily organised enough to seize a 7-11, much less a country.

I think we should be out of the UN simply because, we ased to fund way too much of it and at the end of the day, the UN is simply ineffectual.

I like the idea of the UN meeting in New York City (or near it, technically the UN Headquarters is outside the USA). However, I agree that we put way too much money into an organization that is as corrupt and flawed as it is.

I have worked with many of the UN folks and if I had my way they would have been out of the US a long time ago and we would not be giving them an money!
