Like many Americans I am frustrated with the lack of consistent, detailed, and accessible information regarding government activity. Government transparency should be treated like publicly traded companies
Detailed financial documents should be released, showing many aspects of government spending ranging from contract details to tax dollar tracking. This can be done with a specific standard of reporting required for every department. Allowing each department to record and file activity should keep bureaucratic road blocks low as well and the transition smooth. After the reports are filed, they can be sent to one master website allowing the public to search and find information through a reliable source quickly and easily.
I hope to see this radical but needed change in my lifetime but am sceptical,even as a 22 year old.
