Making Government Operations More Open »

Spend a portion of your time acting on your issue.

Why Is This Idea Important?: Work together to not only open up the process of Government but to begin an ongoing communication line between Representatives and the Public.

As Americans we need to work together to find solutions together. The way to make our world better is to cast off the condemnation of the system and our leaders and provide them with our ideas and expectations. We can feel that we have been abandoned by them but in reality we as the public have abandoned our desire to be involved and to find a way to influence their actions on our behalf.

To make this easier there is a site called TellDC.com that is evolving into a tool to deliver our message to Public Servants. The site was created to let voices not just talk into the cyber world and be lost but to have dedicated staff that will actually walk the halls of our Capital and get answers to your statements or questions. Visit TellDC.com, sign up and post a comment. The only catch is that you will have to find another 9 people willing to agree with your video and then the TellDC.com volunteers will get an answer for you.

  1. There is only one solution. The government MUST accept the limits imposed by The Constitution. The end DOES NOT justify the means.

This is a great idea, if and only if what is sent is read. The very officials voters elect into office go off to DC and become the same officials that do not listen to their voters - only the lobbiests and special interest groups.

  3. We just watched our elected leaders openly and selectively exclude 13 MDs and laywers from the senate finance hearings on healthcare reform. We've been trying to get our ideas across to these legislators for 15 years. With the outright jailing and gagging of the "ideas" these lawyers and MDs brought to the so-called "open to all" discussion and hearing, why would this e-thing have any better luck in getting an "idea" across?

Even though we have a hell of a lot better President in place now, I am losing faith that ANYbody gives a good god damn in congress about anything other than what they themselves think is right or wrong.

Here's an idea for congress - REPRESENT the people instead of representing your own damn self.

  4. I find myself at a loss over the issues you have presented here. I agree that there needs to be more transparency in Government, however asking for answers on UFO's, skilled workers only encouraged to immigrate, and the ballyhoo of Obama's birth certificate, seem to me to be far less important than the financial crisis, the housing crisis, the employment crisis, and the many banking scandals that have taken place. There are far more important issues than those you have mentioned in your presentation. It sounds as though you want to incite the public into a kind of paranoia for your purposes. We need to work together to solve problems, not create them by making accusations that are not relevant or necessary. J from Maine

Just try it. There is power in the voices of many people who agree on a subject and come together as a community to demand answers. Not as we all are here trying to rise above the rest to be the highest rated or most angry. Why not give it a try and letting us get to the member and get an answer for you. www.TellDC.com

  7. This "working together" thing is all well and good, but it doesn't work! So often our elected officials just do what they damn well feel like doing, regardless of what their constituents have to say. The only way we can make our voices heard is at the ballot box... and I can't wit for the mid-term elections! I will not forget what any of these sleazy creeps have done either. November 2010 isn't that far away!

  10. Why should I "cast off the condemnation of the system and our leaders" when that is EXACTLY the problem? Follow the constitution and there won't be any more problems. The first issue I want to see resolved is the elegibility issue of MR. Obama. Till this is resolved he is not my president.

  15. People (Beth-Wade) who don't want to deal with the birth certificate issue don't have to use this site! The "prostitution" of our Constitution is a big, big deal! 16. Ha jerryrayw. I resent being lumped in with those who do not see the critical nature of the "ballyhoo" over Obama's birth certificate. Just because I am a vegan, and believe that we have a stewardship responsibility for our enviroment, does not mean that I am pro abortion or hate Rush, Hannity, O Riley and Beck, nor that I am going to embrace Islam. Creative language and sterotyping will not help get the truth exposed. Please do not undermine legitimate concern for the trashing of our Constitution by lowering the debate to the level of name calling and insults.

    AGREED!

"The way to make our world better is to cast off the condemnation of the system and our leaders and provide them with our ideas and expectations."

THE SYSTEM WAS FINE, UNTIL OUR ELECTED "REPRESENTATIVES" STARTED IGNORING THE RULE OF LAW.

"We can feel that we have been abandoned by them but in reality we as the public have abandoned our desire to be involved and to find a way to influence their actions on our behalf."

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FEELINGS. THOSE IN OFFICE ARE ACTING AS IF THEY ARE THE RULING CLASS. TWO TERM LIMITS FOR EVERY ELECTED POSITION.

If we as a Country have gotten to a place where the thought of working together with your neighbor or friends or others in your community is an unachievable the system is broken. This is the reason that this site and other blogs that are filled with complaints and very few solutions will have little or no impact on the future. I am looking for the Solution minded people. I know there are many active on this site and am glad to see them suggesting, building, questioning in the process.

  19. I agree with jpyshny. And, since our elected representatives are ignoring the rule of law, we, the people, have to vote them OUT! THROW THE BUMS OUT!!! If we do not take the responsibility upon ourselves to vote out the bad apples, and WORK with our friends and neighbors to see that they also vote out the bad guys, the day will soon be upon us when we will have no option but to accept whoever "they" want to have ruling over us.

  20. The article below was written by Stanislav Mishin, a blogger and columnist for the Russian newspaper Pravda.

    American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us (Russia) about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox (Russian Orthodox) churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

jpshny a two term limit would be a good way to stop the effects of lobbyists and special interest groups from dominating our government. Unfortunately the Supreme Court ruled that states can't put limits on the members of Congress. It will take a Constitutional amendment to bring about term limits and there is not one member of Congress that will vote for it. The alternative is an Article 5 convention held by each state to force the amending of the Constitution or term limits to be added to the ballot. Do you see 2/3 of the registered voters in each state getting together to put this on ballot?

  26. Sorry Tim, I have to completely disagree with you, it seems that you still work on an assumption and you know what they say about that...

You said "The way to make our world better is to cast off the condemnation of the system and our leaders and provide them with our ideas and expectations."

This assume that we still have a "Representative Government"

Sorry to burst your bubble but unless you folk at

TellDC.com are throwing special interest money at the Rep's and Senators you won't get any real results.

To sum up the single most troublesome problem with our "Representative Government" is that "We the People" most of whom were not yet born when our so called "Representative Government" passed laws that made bribery legal in the form of "lobbyists" and "Special Interest Groups".

Until we fix the fact that Big Businesses and Special Interest Groups can and do buy votes in Congress, "We the People" will continue to suffer under laws that "they" get passed to their advantage and usually to our great disadvantage.

To Truly represent the People "Bribes" under any name should be illegal!

    Another assumption you have made:

"We can feel that we have been abandoned by them but in reality we as the public have abandoned our desire to be involved and to find a way to influence their actions on our behalf."

I have a great desire to be involved and communicate with my "Elected Representation" via e-mail, snail mail, telephone and on several occasions in person!

I monitor every vote my Rep's and Senator's vote on.

I sign the petitions and have even on one occasion filed legal action against them.

So if you wanna sell your site "TellDC.com" that's OK but don't insult us or continue your ridiculous assumptions please.

It makes you look like the first three letters of the word assume!

Not a good draw for your site to tell people what they think then try to recruit them for your site!

I like your input but I am not selling the site I am trying to find the solution to why it has become inpossible to communicate with a Rep. I am sure you monitor them, I am sure you are angry, I am sure you would like to feel like you could make a difference. You are obviously smart and care so why do you say it is bad when someone says we are trying this to bring control back to people? I don't mind that you don't think the way I do and not sure why you think I am telling other "people what to think" it's completely the opposite. I would like people to post their throught and let people "agree" then get an answer. Even the strange ones deserve a voice if the all agree the question needs to be answered.

  29. Before we can return to some form of representative government we must operate outside mere assumptions and party line regurgitation. Remember, crap flows downhill, in other words the apex of the roof typically gets wet first. That being the case, until we can verify beyond a reasonable doubt that we have a President, everything else is of no moment.

As it stands right now we have a usurper on the Oval Office, the biggest political criminal in American history. A common street thug that has employed a cadre of crooked lawyers to the tune of over one million dollars to keep all of his records sealed. A photoshopped phony non-birth certificate (more than one version), a forensically proven forged selective service registration ( a felony), Illinois State bar application showing indisputable evidence of perjury (a felony), admitted his father was a British national as was he (disqualifies him for office as at best a dual citizen) massive campaign contribution and social security fraud, leaked out of Occidental College he received a Fulbright scholorship only available to foreign non-citizen students and much more!

Anybody posting on here that thinks this is less important than the other crisis that are taking down America at warp speed at the usurpers behest, has an IQ equivalent to an amoeba. Granted Bush was bad news in many ways but he was a patriot compared to this mutant soiling our sacred Oval Office. Does anyone understand that since Jan. 20th the ineligible illegal alien impostor has done more damage to America fiscally, Constitutionally, militarily, to our presence in the world. That he has irreparably damaged our relationships with our allies while coddling, apologizing, bowing and basically cowering in his atypical spineless girly man fashion to every serial killing, genocidal, anti-American despot in the world.

Harry Truman was spot on when he stated the "The buck stops here!" We have no President, we have no commander in chief, we have no leadership.........WHAT WE HAVE IS TYRANNY!

I don't know about anybody else posting here, though some are serial kool-aid drinkers whose day is coming, but this Vietnam vet isn't going to stand by while our nation is ravaged by the very imbeciles elected and paid for by the people, to insure the sanctity of the Constitution as the absolute law of the land and who to a man, took an oath to defend it against all enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC. I'm not alone, there are more than 60 million patriots who will not stand down, while our nation goes down. Just look at what the rest of the world is saying. They can't believe we are this ill informed, this stupid, this cowardly, this complicit in our own end with barely a whimper!

Understand you lemmings out there, the Congress, the Judiciary, the Executive as well as associated branches of each, have abandoned the Constitution, breached their oaths of office and have summarily committed TREASON against the very nation they swore on a bible to uphold and protect. Yet we have a significant number of citizens sitting on their hands in America (the result of one of the lowest literacy rates in the world) going about their daily lives as if nothing has changed.

  30. In expecting government to do more for us you have sent the message that they can do more TO us. As a result, this nation is dangerously polarized, yet some of you still want to empower government even more. A nation so divided can only be ruled by force, and this government is more than eager to apply that force.

When this happens it won't matter where you stand now, you will be enslaved.

The only alternate is to return to a government limited by the Constitution, but it may be too late for that.

History records many nations ruined by socialism, we may just be the next one in the books.

Smart and Angry people unite! You all have your issues but are not coming together to find a way to get unite and deliver a message (and demand an answer). TellDC.com has real people in Washington that will go to the Congressional or Senate offices and walk in, stand or sit as long as it takes, and demand an answer. If we all act like boxers at opposite sides of the ring ranting at how you, I or others are making dumb statements or moves we are all going to lose. Can we in this moment of crises take the time to examine what you want and on a face to face way express it? Writing emotional statement without action is not going to help any of us. Experiment with a process that may now make a difference. Yell, scream or just plainly state your opinion or issue and see what happens. It's time to TellDC.com.

  34. lacroix.mike1: We can always write to our "representatives" in enough numbers to get their attention, and threaten them with voting them out or find a way to use the laws of our nation to kick out an unresponsive "representative". As in the case of the North Carolina Supreme Court justices (not capitalized on purpose). They are telling the Governor that the State MUST accept money from the Feds "Or else". They do not have that authority. And they will find themselves in deep Kimchee with the people of North Carolina, very quickly.

Governor Rick Perry of Texas suggested this route for them on FOX NEWS. Texas had a 9 billion $ surplus. They declared their sovereignty, AND told the Feds to stick their money you know where.

tsiya: It's never too late as long as the population has more arms than the tyrants. So far, there are almost 400 million LEGAL weapons on the streets of America, and billions of rounds of ammo. Untold millions more in the hands of criminals. A totalitarian government is bad for them too, unless they become part of it, as happened in Germany circa 1934.

They are all bought and paid for by the Cartels. This site wouldn't allow the link. Got to the FEMA website and READ. Do so between the lines as well. Kissenger speaks volumes about what government thinks of us. But I'm a TEXAN. That means something here that the other 49 (save Alaska) can't experience. Texas is a nation presently under Federal onslaught. But I'm confident once the dust settles, TEXAS will be free.

  39. Thanks bacpakin. A Texan eh? I knew there was just too much common sense coming from you. Ron Paul is one of my heros, next to Audie L. Murphy and a couple of others. I'd be living in Texas right now, except that my 5 year old daughter lives here in OZland.

You misunderstood my meaning. They are comin' for me no matter what, so why hold my tongue?

They will not sneak up on me, and when they come, there will be tears in their homes that day.

One of the States that will get a taste of FEMA Martial Law on 27 July is Texas. Watch for them. Perhaps sleep at a friend's house, the Texas National Guard armory or a Hotel starting on the 25th of July.

I intend to back up my neighbors if the feces hits the impeller. Unfortunately, I live right near the Sheriffs Office. He was appointed to the job after OUR Sheriff was murdered. Governor Sebilius, Sotero's newest minion, appointed him. The Elections here are as fixed as in any other state run by the New National Socialists. That's why the old Sheriff had to be killed. He wasn't getting voted out.

The Politcal appointee has all his SONS and their wives working at the Sheriffs Department. All the old Deputees are GONE. Replaced by former Blackwater Nazis, his family and others from out of state.

They are feeling pretty good right now. Oklahoma is another one of the states, we probaly are as well but we aren't specifically named, even though Texas is West of us and OK is East of us. I don't trust the Nazi bastards.

The government has spent the last 40 or so year dumbing down the populace. With the help of MSM and two political parties they have kept “we the people” ignorant and divided. Heavens forbid that the mass unite. The only time “we the people” have meaning is when they want our tax dollars.

It is time we ask what OUR government is going to do for us; “we the people”.

I voted for Obama the candidate. I supported many of his views. I am finding it harder and harder to back the policies of Obama the president. I have found that if you don’t listen to his speeches, but read them, a totally different meaning comes forth. The word duplicity comes to mind.

What are the main issues; a government that does not listen to its voters with elected officials that are in perpetual campaign mode; a government that has circumvented the Constitution and rule of law, tortured and killed in our names; a government that has conspired with banks, financial institutions and corporations to rob the tax payers blind; a government that is forcing health care reforms that benefit the few not the many; a government that is using national interest a/k/a corporate interest in the guise of national security a/k/a corporate interest security to cause havoc, wars and genocide around the world. And, the list goes on.

Solutions; well recognition of the problems is a start. If voicing the recognition puts me on a list, good, I’ll be in the best of company.

While I don't agree with your semantics singlepayercentral, I do understand what you are trying to say. I've heard it said that politics and (not Christianity JUST} religion are bringing down America, and from what I've read several places in cyberspace, I can agree.

As I said to some one else, I pray for my son, it is HIS generation that will bring America back from the brink, IF it is posible.
