Secured network for Public Voting

Why Is This Idea Important?: Congress is outdated. We have newer technologies that have become standard in our lives. Yes, the idea of state representation HAS worked in the past, however we no longer need to do that anymore. We should be able to represent ourselves. Our governments are not serving the people like they are "designed" to do. Action must be taken before another generation gets sucked into this false representation of democracy.

There should be a government run website that citizens can log-in to with their Social Security Number and vote for bills and such. This website is doing nothing but stirring debates, not to say that is not important.

  1. NOT GOVT RUN. THEN WE WILL HAVE THE SAME BIAS AS IS ON HERE TO TOPICS THE USURPER IS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH. BUT THE VOTE IDEA IS GOOD. ALTHOUGH SSN IS NOT VIABLE INASMUCH AS THEFT IS TOO STRONG A POSSIBILITY. MORE LIKE TRACKING WEB ADDRESS FROM WHICH VOTE IS COMING, LIKE THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY DOING ON HERE. MAYBE WND IS RIGHT AND THOSE ASKING FOR B.C. WILL BE BLACKLISTED. I DONT REALLY CARE. I AM AN AMERICAN LOOKING FOR CONSTITUTIONAL TRUTH. BLACKLIST AWAY.

  2. When I was a child, and I acted like a spoiled 5 year old and I whined and stamped my feet and DEMANDED attention because I didn’t get my way…my parents sent me to my room. And I’d holler and wail and stamp my feet until I realized that I would not be invited back to participate with the adults and have my voice heard until I changed my behavior and quit acting like an ass.

I could stamp my feet all I wanted, and nobody cared…because I was acting like a rotten little creep and no one wanted me around. When I got tired of being excluded from adult conversation I told my parents I was sorry and that I was ready to be a part of the discussion again.

We would talk and I would express my needs and they would listen. Sometimes I would get the things I’d ask for and sometimes they would explain to me why I wasn’t going to get things the way I wanted them, but they would be respectful and consider my wants.

It’s time for “birther” conservatives to be sent to their room and ignored. To be left out of the conversation by the adults until they are willing to quit making demands and screaming and stomping their feet…to be sent to their rooms until they are willing to work WITH their family members to make a pleasant, peaceful and respectful home for all of us…instead of dominating the environment with selfish, childish pettiness.

Well, its too bad people vote this down... I'm not saying it should be exactly like this but similar in theory. People are so ignorant it makes me furious.

  4. I didn't vote either way. I agree with voting on the internet!

The main thing is there a way to verify that your votes were accurately recorded.

Post them online, and where you voted. You receive a random number when you vote, and look up that number online or at the polling place to make sure it was correct.

  5. RFID has been hacked, as have Diebold voting machines, as have many, many other things of technological origin.

Anyone honestly suggesting that ANY voting system would be tamper proof has obviously never considered these facts, or the VERY simple fact that all such systems are also designed and built by humans. Humans are fallible creatures, who sometimes make mistakes. Other humans sometimes locate these mistakes, and make use of them. Still other humans find ways to circumvent system controls and get the results they desire.

Everyone online right now shuld be aware of their IP address, and the fact that these addresses can be "spoofed" by any of a thousand different means. By logical extention, even if a vote were traced directly back to the registered voter's home internet address, this would not be proof of their vote being cast. Further to this, if their IP was spoofed by a criminal vote stealer, the "voter" who had not yet cast his vote would have absolutely no way to prove that they did NOT vote already, as their vote would have been recorded and verified as coming form their home internet account, via their IP address.

The ONLY safe and secure method of casting private votes is to do so with paper ballots, marked by hand, counted by hand, and locked away safely so that they can be recounted if there appears any inconsistency with the initial results, or if the numbers are too close and reverification is required.

There is also a very good reason why POLITICIANS are the main people pushing for electronic voting systems...they already know all of this, and are fully prepared to take advantage of it!
