Why Is This Idea Important?: It was a nice idea, but the RW will not let reasonable discourse exists.

It has become populated by lunatics who add nothing to the national discourse. It is nothing but an unmoderated flamefest.

    Well, this is good. You need to let people vent because if you don't they will vent other ways. Try to figure out what I mean. We the people still have a voice and I intent to use it.

    Remember, once this government takes that away, then they will have a big time problem on their hands.

    It's only a flamefest because not enough people are flagging the idiotic posts (like "THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE WAS FAKED I DEMAND PROOF" etc.)

    I disagree. When we start flagging comments just because we happen not to like what it may say, we are no better off than the terrorist who want to change America policies into there Muslim beliefs, i.e. making there women wear burka's.. (Could you imagine Megan Fox with that own? yuck)

    Can you imagine a Letter to the Editor with the same material being published by the newspaper?

    Here we get to write and read new ideas.

    I always learn something, I don't always learn something in the Letters to the Editor Section.

    Further, for reasons too lengthy to mention,

    there is no doubt that this is a most valuable site

    in keeping us aware of the difficulties in communicating with each other. If not here, where?

    While I agree with 'A kemler' that this site has become a wingnut circlejerk, I wouldn't take it down. Free Speech is what it is. Besides, this isn't the only website where inane right-wing antagonism is showing up. It's endemic to the entire internet. Many of these people have been ingesting pathological material for years. I'm just glad I'm not one of em.
