Real Time Emissions Tracking

Why Is This Idea Important?: If we cannot reduce greenhouse gas emissions fast, global warming is going to cook this planet. The federal government is a major user of energy and producer of greenhouse gas emissions. Real time data on energy use and its associated emissions would allow officials and citizens to pin point areas where energy conservation and efficiency measures can be implemented. Real-time feed back would help government officials and workers pinpoint measures for conservation and efficiency in their every day lives. The data could be used to educate people about energy, efficiency and conservation and global warming. Finally, by implementing real time emissions tracking the Federal Government can be a technology incubator fostering the innovation needed to transform our society into a sustainable one.

Provide public real time data on the energy use and associated green house gas emissions of all government buildings, vehicles and programs.

    Why would anyone believe the global warming rhetoric with any real evidence? Is a computer generated image of a polar bear drowning really that convincing?
