Provide Enterprise Resource Planning Solutions to Local Community Action Agencies

Why Is This Idea Important?: Adopting the principles cited in HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) report on Industrializing the Residential Construction Site will empower local Community Development Corporations (CDCs) to quickly scale their operations with transparncy and accountability. A significant portion of the ARRA has been set aside for housing restoration and weatherization overwhelming local housing agencies. A Web 2.0 knowledge base provides a data sharing relationship between the CDCs across the country. An innovative solution, http://www.RebuildingManagement.com originally developed to empower Long Term Recovery Organizations (LTROs) provide construction management services to displaced Hurricane Katrina homeowners is already in existence and ready to be deployed, . Nationwide deployment could be expedited through FEMA's Volunteer Agency Liason (VAL) force. Aside from the obvious benefit of empowering local CDCs to meet the current need, long term distater recovery preparedness would simultaneously take place by pre-establishing LTROs for future emergency response.
