Did we forget that the constitution requires a Natural born citizen? If he is, why is he spending so much money and effort trying to hide his? I propose that Congress passes a law requiring an official long copy birth certificate be verified before candidates can be placed on the ballot of the first primary. Again, if there was nothing to hide, then why spend so much money and time trying to avoid showing it.

Tell your congress members to co-sponsor HR1503, already filed, which would require proof of Article II eligibility of any candidate. A congressional committee has the power to obtain copy of those records and ascertain the truth, whatever it may be.

Watching the campaign for president it is clear that this birth certificate spoof is an underground smear attempt. Looking back through the generations for some constitutional fragment that somehow will discredit the president, Republicans sure are jealous, they have nothing what so ever to offer but the hole they dig themselves, instead of seriously attending to true issues of governance. In the end all this pathetic slander that spilled out on this site today will only alienate the supposed benefactors of this gross attack. This site is available for the world to see. It is the partners of America; it is America’s allies that will see this attack for what it is. karidrgn- his mother's citizenship isn't relevant- he was born a British subject through his Kenyan father and the founders of this country wrote extensively that a "natural born citizen" could not hold allegiance to any other country. The left is where the hate resides. All we want is simple proof of the constitutional eligibility of our President. I served this country for 22 years in the U.S. Army, and I had to show my birth certificate many times. I was always proud to do so. If he really WAS born in America, why is it such a big deal to show his birth certificate? There presumably is nothing on there that we don't already know, correct? Surely even liberals can comprehend the reason why we cannot have a foriegn born President, so why are you all so against our request?

karidgrn and klingspoon, I am neither left nor right. I am conservative. I am not concerned because of some vast right wing conspiracy, I am concerned because I love the constitution and want to see it upheld. Supposedly, so does our president, at least he took an oath to uphold it. If you will think back, there were questions about McCain's citizenship status. He produced a birth certificate for anyone and everyone to examine. Obama has produced a short form for one website, that, oh by the way, is supported by the Annenberg Foundation, which is one of his big supporters. The short form, doesn't contain all the relevant information AND there is some question as to whether it was forged. That is the only place he has produced his certificate and only to a few people - of his choosing. Further, if you knew your history, Hawaii has 2 forms - one is a certificate of live birth and one is a birth certificate. One says you are alive and were born, but not necessarily in Hawaii one says you were born IN Hawaii. If you had also done your research, then you would know that at the time of his birth, citizenship was not AUTOMATICALLY passed from parent to child, there were age restrictions, which his Mom DID NOT meet. So it does make a difference. Then, we get to his father and being a british citizen. Oh, and don't forget that he was adopted by an Indonesian man. At that time, Indonesia did not offer dual citizenship. Does this mean he is not a citizen? Did he ever pick back up his citizenship?
You see, what we as conservatives and concerned citizens are so frustrated by is that if this was George W. Bush or Cheney or Gingrich then he would have been crucified by the media until he produced such documentation and even then, he wouldn't be able to serve. SO, what does the media do? Dismiss this as nonsense. Well, it isn't. AND the more that Obama refuses to release his records (even his college records that some believe would show he went on funding for foreign nationals), the more that we believe there is some fire behind that smoke.
So, please spare me the condescending nonsense. Obviously, you are not concerned about the law, but I am and I will continue to fight for the constitution and the truth until I die.

1To Mr. Obama: Before we can offer you the job of President of the USA, we, like many employers, must see an offical copy of your high school & college transcripts and other academic records. This would include transcripts from all colleges & schools attended by you. In order to be certain of your citizenship status we need to see your passport, green card or birth certificate. This must be an offical long form version of your birth certificate which would have been filed by the health department shortly after your birth. I want to see Mr. Obama's long form birth certificate and his accadmeic records from elementary school attended outside of the US in Indonesia and Occidental College & Columbia Univestiy as well and also his passport. His college transcripts should be submitted, as we the people, are his employer and employers often ask for these items. Proof of citizenship, proof of academic completion. If he fails to produce these documents we could charge him with lying on his application for the job as President. By the Way, the certificate version stamped form 2007 which was submitted online and posted on the stop the smears website is unacceptable. I cannot accept this version from any client I work with in social services and I cannot accpet this version from anyone who wants to apply for the highest office in the USA. You will have a deadline by which these documants must be submitted and authenticated before WE the People can accept. That deadline is 30 days from this date (6/2/09). Failure to produce these documents will drastically impede your ability to run for elected office in the USA again. Thank you and God bless.

This post is popular but not nearly as popular as the posts asking for Obama to make his birth certificate, college record, health records and the like available.
Count Birth Certificate comments here and you will get over 7,000 But, this site has been rigged so that the posts asking for Obama to support transparency by providing his own birth certificate, health records and college records are not properly counted, even when they do not get deleted. All of the multiple posts would not need to exist if the honest reporting of this site showed the number one request here is for Obama to release his records.
I have done a personal count of more than 1,000 requests for his birth certificate. My analysis suggests there have been at least 7,000 request for Obama to produce his real birth certificate, college records, health records and other financial records.
It is possible to review this site to find the most requested ideas by scanning "Top Rated" posts, but the requests for Obama's records do not show up as being top rated. Those runnig this site are cooking the results. If the results were honest people would be able to continue to vote on a single post asking for transparency of Obama's records.
According to the liars running this website the most requested item has NOT been Obama's birth certificate.

I am certainly not arrogant. I am a stay at home mom, an american citizen who is concerned that we have a NARCISSIST in office who feels that he is above the law. Well, he isn't. If this wasn't an issue, then why doesn't he just produce the silly thing and be done with it. BECAUSE HE CAN'T. The problem with liberals is that they think the rule of law is all fine and good, because it doesn't apply to them. Reference: Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Charles Rangel, Tim Geithner. I fail to realize how your personal request for an item that has already been repeated many times by the community is not in pursuit of your own self interest.
It's irrelevant at this point since your refusal to conform to the framework of this forum, by engaging in a civil and organized discussion; while RESPECTING THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS to discuss ideas which are important to them, only further marginalizes any legitimacy your argument may have carried.
