There are several layers to making this happen.
The first is not as obvious as it seems. People who are hard working, went to school, college and some more are struggling to keep ahead of longstanding high interest student loans from years ago. This impedes our current ability to help our children get education and go on to college. This impedes our current ability to simply feed our families etc. There was no program in place when we went to college to allow us to work and gain loan forgiveness or to reduce the interest rates of 9% from long ago. Finding a way to help unburden us of these past dinasours that are as large and ominous as the real things would allow us to begin to take care of our families now, help us keep our homes and begin to help our children prepare and attend college in the future.
The second piece in my opinion is those soon to and currently seeking college educations to better tomorrow. These people would best benefit from not having loans to be sattled with. They would best be served by getting their education completely paid for while doing some community service. This would create a whole work force doing the communities work and provide unburdened educated people to lead for tomorrow. Having these guys be the assistants and volunteers in schools k-12 among other things would add a huge man power to the educational system at all levels. It would also give these guys real experience so when they graduate from college, the issue of getting a job with no experience or having no experience and trying to get a job be much less of an issue.
The third piece is the little ones that are struggling for good educational support from early childhood. This should be a public/private sector partnership. Not just a public and not for profit thrust of support from the government. Small businesses e.g. for profit day cares interested in provided new, energized and dynamic programs to educate these wonderful small people should be supported with grants and subsidies not heavy burdened loans. If the government directly supports via grants and subsidies so that small businesses are not burdened for the future, then small business startups, growth and providing quality educations in dynamic ways would be a community incentive not just a government incentive.
For this last point:
The point is not to pay CEOs, etc. The point is to help companies start up [start up grants] that have good business plans, or support our public policy.
The point is also to support small private sector for profit business partnering with the government rather to have it sit wholey in one or the other so that it is an incentive for all to work together to achieve the goal. And the other point is that attach strings e.g. good business plan, gets start-up grants or subsidies.
This last point is that our government doles out billions to large for profit private sector companies e.g. banks, with no strings. How about stopping that. And support the back bone of our economy to move us out of the recession and back to work, you know small for profit businesses.
