The U.S. Government and the National Institutes of Health need to begin an urgent study of a rapidly spreading psychopathology which leads a growing number of American citizens to obsessively post, write and petition for more information about the birth certificate of the President. Symptoms include a belief that if only they could see the actual document their beliefs about his eligibility would in fact be altered (no evidence exists to support this component of their delusional schema.) Symptoms also include a compulsion to use capital letters and an uncomfortable relationship to grammar, spelling and rationality. If research demonstrates that the disease is not curable through normal psychiatric or public health methods, considering harnessing the power of their pudgy little fingers tapping endlessly on keyboards to solve national energy needs. Also, consider identifying subjects in need of treatment by holding meetings around the country on "Federal plans to take away your guns" and then capturing and treating those who show up to protest.

This whole birth certificate thing is ridiculous.
I lost my original birth certificate, so when I needed a replacement I went to the Health Dept and got a "certificate of vital record", which looks nothing like a traditional long-form birth certificate but serves EXACTLY the same purpose.
Both my kids'birth certificates are "certificates of vital record", and to tell the truth they look a lot like Obama's certificate of live birth. They are accepted for school enrollment, proof of US citizenship, etc.
When you lose your original birth certificate, they don't replace it with a copy of the original. They print out a totally new certificate, with whatever current design that state is using.
So Obama doesn't have a copy of his original birth certificate. People lose them all the time. Get over it already and stop trying to make it into some kind of conspiracy theory.
These fools have turned a legitimate forum into a complete joke.

The blood of our nation's patriots was shed and the sacrifices of our founding fathers were made to bring about this precious document and the principles it stands for.
Conspiracy theory or not, we must uphold and defend our Constitution because the integrity of our nation depends on this.
By his refusal to obey the Constitution, Barack Obama has demonstrated mockery of the very document he has sworn to protect. As such, we will continue to demand he produce these documents until the truth is heard and justice is enacted.

Your arrogance is overwhelming. During the time Hawaii was evolving into statehood, there were two types of birth certificates issued 'at or around the time of birth'. The first birth certificate was the traditional birth certificate issued by traditional 'establishment' hospitals and doctors. The second type of birth certificate was available for those babies born outside the traditional medical facilities. This, of course, was likely quite common in a state made up of chain of islands where children were born in remote or isolated parts of the state. It is conceivable that Barack's grandmother had the foresight to apply for this birth certificate after the fact to protect her grandson from the irresponsible footloose and fancy free globe trotting that actually resulted in Obama being born in Kenya. As well, it is also conceivable that same Secretaries of State that allowed an illegal alien on the presidential ballot of five states did not have a valid mechanism in place to verify Barack Hussein Obama's constitutional eligibility.

Where any other babies born at the same hospital on the same day? Do those people have some other kind of birth certificate? If there were and they do have a different kind of birth certificate then what's the deal with Obama's?
When this was initially addressed by the Obama people did they say there was a more formal certificate that was lost? Or did they contend that this was the one and only form that babies born at that hospital in that year were given?
Psychosis? Hardly. A fun game that annoys the right people? Definitely. A serious issue? Just as serious as National Guard records from the 60's

wemo.mike, I think we can develop the technology to do what you have in mind (after all, most of them don't know that Federal brain monitors could use the same frequencies as standard 802.11b wireless home routers), but it's gonna require serious research. I continue to believe that with a serious public health approach we could be reduce the incidence rate significantly within just a year or two.

Alright miles- I'll meet you at the offices of the organization of organizations tomorrow so we can get to work with the other top leaders of the Obama Machine, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderburg Group to hash out some plans to defeat those pesky aluminum foil helmets- seems the fluoride isn't working as well as it used to. You are arguing that providing evidence is not necessary because even if the prima facie evidence for Obama's natural born citizenship were provided, those who are suspicious of Obama's eligibility would find some other reason to disregard it.
The fact remains that the burden of proof for natural born citizenship lies with Obama and to date he has failed to provide it.
What you have done is create an argument from ignorance, or ad ignoratium, twisted together with circular reasoning. It goes as follows.
Statement X is true, because if evidence Y to support statement X were provided, statement X wouldn't be believed anyway.
Therefore, we don't need to provide evidence Y, and statement X remains true.
