Human Readable Bills

Why Is This Idea Important?: When's the last time that you read a bill? The size and complexity of them essentially isolates them to only those who care enough to spend their hard-earned time.

Require bills passed by Congress to have "human readable versions" accessible as part of the congressional record that outline all effects and intentions of the bill in simple, easily-understandable language. Tag statements with links to the provisions in the bill that supposedly match the statements.

For example, creative commons (creativecommons.org) maintains two versions of each of their license. One that describes basically the intent of the license (one page long) and one that describes the license in legalese.

Another way to think of this may be cliff notes.

  2. Do a search in Google on "Government Wealth" then if you are inclined, support this man that has provided this great service for us that make up the USA. We need volunteers to audit their city, county, state, etc...

  3. This is a brilliant idea. Apparently, our own elected officials don't have time to even read major sweeping legilation like the "Stimulus" bill. They even hired a speed reader to see if they could get through it. HA HA that was so funny it made this citizen reconsider his vote for them.

Now this idea would allow even the LAZIEST of our elected officials to at least have an idea that they are flushing our entire future down the toilet with their vote.

Not only that the public will then be aware that instead of spending the massive amounts of money on things like saving their exist entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicaid/Caire, etc. They are busy getting more bribe money to try and coerce the States into taking more of our freedoms.

But I digress - GREAT IDEA!!!!
