Freedom to privacy

Why Is This Idea Important?: Protection of anonymity from the government and right to privacy are key concepts provided by the constitution. Electronic record keeping and inter agency information transfers have by-passed illegal search and seizure/privacy rules.

The initial idea of prohibition of illegal search and seizures guaranteed by the constitution has gone by the way side in the era of electronic records.

Now days the government does not need to come into your home to invade your privacy or seize your bank account they can just do it electronically. The problem is automatic inter-agency and federal/state/local transfer of information without your knowledge. The initial idea behind this was to track terrorists, pedophiles, and organized crime but it has expanded to all citizens. The concept of "trust us we are doing this for your own good" no longer flies.

There is no longer anonymity from the government in all matters of life this needs to change or the United States will become a police state.

Shockingly, now when you pay for your prescription with a credit card at Rite Aid, they automatically take your medical records and do whatever they want with them (most likely sell the info to drug companies and other marketers.)

This is a huge invasion of privacy and you are barely notified of this practice- it just appears as a little note when you sign your credit card.

Give Rite Aid hell for this practice! End it. Privacy is part of freedom.

  2. It didn't work in Germany since the system became overwheled and people used it to destroy their own enemies (not the danger to their country).

"We the people" aren't to blame for what is happening in our country today. We didn't go to illegal wars or rob us for generations out.

Our leaders privacy should be monitored. They work for us don't they?

  3. There is unfortunately a force stronger than principles. It is reality. Privacy is obsolete. Sad but true.
