How many times must we say it. Education begins at home. Young people are distracted and not involved, nor do they understand the processes or the ideologies behind them. Why, because they don't read. Why do they not read? Because there is "no one at home" to see that they do.
It is not the educational system, the lack of money, or good intentions.
1. How do we allow one parent to stay home to rear children and still retain a working force and a vibrant economy? Perhaps homemakers, male or female, should have computer jobs at home.
2. Could the elderly be enlisted to care for the children more actively?
There must be many ways of doing it.
America has touted family as the core of our being. This is a sham, and aside from some ethnic enclaves throughout the country it has been a sham since after WW II
I apologize for being too broad and suggesting soemthing I don't personally think is doable. With all our proserity and freedom, who would give up luxury and individuality in order to be tied to the education of a child?
