Ban Political Parties in Goverment

Why Is This Idea Important?: I have come to believe no political party has the peoples interest first, its always the agenda of the party first. Would it not be best if all party's and groups were ban inside government and serve the people first?

George Washington -Warns against the party system.

"It serves to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration....agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one....against another....it opens the door to foreign influence and corruption...thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another."

  1. I *like* this and had not thought of it. 39% of us are now "Independent" according to the latest Pew Poll. The days of the two party crime system are numbered. There is a real elegance to your idea and I am glad you brought it forward.

  2. Personally, I don't even like to be called Independent. I don't want to declare anything more politically then the fact that I'm an American when I vote.

  3. Greta idea. The parties serve to promote scandal and back stabbing. Congress is like a freakin school yard. Let's grow up.

  4. What are we doing to encourage a party system? How is a party defined here? This is very vague.

  6. If people want to organize around a certain candidate or group of candidates, that should be acceptable or supported. Using a party system to select the best candidate out of a group of similar candidates seems better than diluting the vote. There are problems, but I think you would be better off starting a new party and showing the existing ones how to do it properly. This right to organize is one of our basic freedoms.

  7. Sure I agree to a point and is a basic freedom, just keep it outside when its time to serve the country and not the party... the country wasn't founded by two partys

  8. I disagree completely. I think we should move to a multi-party system. There are lots of different folks in this country and it would be nice to have their belief systems represented in Congress without having to be bound by the label Democrat or Republican.

  9. This is where the labels don't belong, were it's a country of people not a country of parties.

We continue to go done the road of labels and differences: it is a tool used to divide the people not unit.

  10. I'm still confused about what you want to do here. Remove the party names from the ballot?

  11. I vote on the best person for the job not a party. Some states including mine have a "one ticket" check for a party. This is shows how fascist in nature political parties and some organizations are becoming -very dangerous.

  12. If you're asking for removal of those laws, I'm fine with that, but support state sovereignty.

For people who like the party system, they will chose based on their parties blessed candidate.

By the way, what do you think of the priority vote idea for candidates? That one allows people to select multiple candidates and the system moves to the next vote for candidates without much support.
