The debt by people in this country makes me angry. I always pay my bills and don't buy what I can't afford. I pay off my credit cards every month.
Now the government debt and culture of spending has come back to bite us in the can. Those of us who are careful have to pay those who aren't.
It has effected our home value (paid off but can't sell) and our retirement (even my pension has been robbed yet the man doesn't go to jail). What not Attorney General of NY Cumo?

The problem is that we've been at a tipping point for some time now. At some point nothing on earth will be able to stop the runaway debt train.
Sure, we have enough military might to say, "We're not going to pay you. Now. What?" I mean, can't we just declare bankruptcy and absolve these debts?
Not without war. Which we can win. TODAY. But probably not 40 years from now at the present debt rate.
A good leader will look that far down the road.
The truth is, Obama needs to halt the runaway debt held by American citizens first, and create incentives to save money. Having cash reserves instead of debt reserves is the solution to our debt problem. The Chinese are cash flush because they live frugally and save their money. If we don't match them in saving dollar for dollar, we've got major problems no matter what Obama does. They've got four Chinese saving money for every American.
President Obama needs to make saving money a national imperative. He can't do that borrowing trillions.
