The first site is somewhat balanced, the second is pro and the third against the last two are both written by people have lived in both countries.
Read especially the pro and against and weigh their points against each other, because it makes it seem clear (imo) that what is wrong with the Canadian system (the long waits and the unavailability of treatments) would not happen here because in the US we have far more trained doctors. Also, for the people less liberal than I am, consider that the system we have now allows illegal immigrants to receive health care and then leave the bills to citizens. In socialized care, they wouldn't be part of that system unless they were citizens, so the situation wouldn't arise.

The belief that the "long waits" would not happen here because we have "far more trained doctors" may not be accurate. We have more doctors and far more patients. Canada has fewer residents than California.
The risk isn't that socializing health care would instantly disrupt care, but rather that taking away incentives would lead to the long term decline in both medical practitioners (who would find other professions more attractive) and in research. Without the US health system driving medical research there could be an overall decline in medical advancement.
Lastly, although the bills would not cover illegal immigrants, there is no provision to halt their current drain on resources as hospitals would still need to care for the uninsured. Without some form of illegal immigration reform that cost remains in the health care system.
THE 111TH CONGRESS & HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:
AMERICANS WANT YOU TO VOTE IN THEIR BEHALF NOT IN BEHALF OF THE DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST OF AMERICA. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN IS A FREE REPUBLIC AND WILL NEVER BE A SOCIALIST OLIGARCHY RAN BY AN USURPER. THE STATE OF HAWAII IS ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THIS VERY CONCERNING ISSUE AND YOU AND THE STATE OF HAWAII KNOW A COLB DOES NOT PROVE PLACE OF BIRTH. THE WHOLE COUNTRY OF KENYA BELIEVE OBAMA WAS BORN IN KENYA INCLUDING THE AMBASSADOR OF KENYA AND OBAMA'S ONLY SURVIVING GRANDMOTHER WHO STATES SHE WAS PRESENT FOR OBAMA'S BIRTH IN NAIROBI, KENYA.
IF YOU ARE FOR SOCIALIST NATIONAL HEALTH CARE AND DEBACLE CAP & TRADE YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE WRONG SIDE, THE DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST SIDE, NOT THE SIDE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. A SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT WITH SOCIALIST POLICIES & A SOCIALIST AGENDA CANNOT EXIST IN A FREE REPUBLIC. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOW HOW THE DSA HAS HIJACKED THE DEMOCRAT PARTY. THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA PROPAGANDA MACHINE CANNOT KEEP THE TRUTH FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE THE PEOPLE WILL BECOME OUR OWN MEDIA REPORTERS AND SPREAD THE TRUTH TO ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOU, WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON THE DSA SOCIALIST OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OF THE FREE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN WHO'S CONSTITUTION, FREE REPUBLIC GOVERNMENT AND COUNTRY YOU SWORE TO PROTECT? IF YOU CHOOSE THE WRONG DSA SIDE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL VOTE YOU OUT ALONG WITH ALL THE DSA MEMBERS IN CONGRESS.
"NO" TO DEBACLE CAP & TRADE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD
"NO" TO SOCIALIST NATIONAL HEALTH CARE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT WANT NOR CAN AFFORD
A NATURAL BORN AMERICAN CITIZEN, WIFE, MOTHER, TEACHER WHO LOVES HER COUNTRY
It would seem to me that those who have the most to lose if the US goes broke should be asked to shoulder their share of the costs of creating a sound economy. If the FICA tax was extended to include ALL earned income, the resulting flow of cash into Social Security would fund both S.S. and Medicare for all of us. Why not make Medicare the primary for all and make private coverage secondary? This would immediately lower costs to businesses and individuals, and allow the "choice" which seems to be so dear to all of us. Sometimes the simplest solutions may be the best.
