President Nicolas Sarkozy said the Muslim burqa would not be welcome in France, calling the full-body religious gown a sign of the "debasement" of women.
In the first presidential address to parliament in 136 years, Sarkozy faced critics who fear the burqa issue could stigmatize France's Muslims and said he supported banning the garment from being worn in public.
"In our country, we cannot accept that women be prisoners behind a screen, cut off from all social life, deprived of all identity," Sarkozy said to extended applause at the Chateau of Versailles, southwest of Paris.
"The burqa is not a religious sign, it's a sign of subservience, a sign of debasement — I want to say it solemnly," he said. "It will not be welcome on the territory of the French Republic."

My not be relevant. It is nice to know that there is a President who is taknig a stand for The People in his Country. Not just catering to all groups for a vote.
I knew that I wasn't the only one to notice that France has a leader that would drop his nuts on the Muslim/Islamic terrorist and tell them this is our country and it is not being ran by terrorist or allowing them to dress as terrorist either.
I wish that Obumbles could grow some balls and stand up for our country like Nicolas Sarkozy did for his country.

There is no way to tell what side this person is on.
However, I personally feel that the president should in no way follow in Sarkozy's footsteps. America is a country of freedom of religion, and banning burqa's would just be un-american. Don't cheer Sarkozy on without thinking about that, first.

I found my self having a hard time saying that I was taking side with their country because of reasons that are too many to list. I do how ever take sides with this one because Islam is all about total control and domination of all others at all cost...Muhammad was selling a pseudo intellectual psycho babble that has became more violent as the days pass. I could post videos of what their so called religion is doing as current as of today but I know they would be removed because nobody wants to see people getting their hands, feet, arms, legs and head cut off. Honor killings...WTF is that all about? It is happening right here in our country.
We need to get them out of our country before it is to late...we are being attacked from all sides and nobody wants to believe it.
We need women to stand up against this as well...their rights will be gone too. Islam doesn't respect females at all.
How can we call someone who gives us Life. Less than a Man.. Religion itself puts women as second class. Most praise Mary. But she could not Preach there. Freedom is the Keyword. Religion is a way to control.
Religion is what you make of it. Christianity is not about control...you choose to follow what you choose to follow. That is your freedom of choice. What Islam does to their people is place the fear of having your body dismembered for not following their way...and they do it too.
Most every one (including men) has helped in making sure that there is equality between genders...except Islam.
President Nicolas Sarkozy took a stand for the females in France and would not let that joke of a religion rule over his country...which is by far better Obama would ever do here.
