With all the ranting and raving about overthrowing the government we all need to "just take some to breath". If we don't stop to take 5 deep breaths, the one right we take for granted might just as well dissipate.

Help farmers and especially nursery growers sustain economically so they can once again concentrate and focus their professional energy into growing plants. Without plants our air quality degrades while earth's palette of nutritional and medical diversity depreciates.
As a nurseryman for over 15 years working at a nursery that has been in business for over 40 years, I could tell you the state of our country healthcare and food quality is in grave danger due to government stress on unnecessary business policy the American farmer must face.
Growing and maintaining over 1500 different species of woody ornamental trees and shrubs entail a great deal of responsiblity. The local township, state, and federal government are severely burdening owners and operators of farms. In fact, governmental fiscal and record keeping responsibility outweigh all farming responsibilities by a factor of at least 220%!
Since we specialize in biodiversity, we are seeing levels of common plant species swiftly falling to endangered status to nearly extinct. One of these plant species is the Hardy Rosemary. Next is Barberry, Winterberry, Anise, etc., and the list goes on and on!
Growers are too focused on saving their farms from foreclosure and overworked due to remaining downsized.
Wake up America. Where or what do you want in your next meal? Soylent green anyone?
First things first...
Lobby to lessen the burden on farm owners, volunteer your time at your local nursery, purchase plants, and focus your energies on making sure your local farmland is safe. Once the plant go, the food goes and then human's are next!

My sister works for for a forester here in east Texas and I can tell you we all good. We have plentiful pine and hard wood that you can't hardly get somebody to haul off.

One contributor to global warming _ bigger than coal mines, landfills and sewage treatment plants _ is being left out of efforts by the Obama administration and House Democrats to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

Belching from the nation's 170 million cattle, sheep and pigs produces about one-quarter of the methane released in the U.S. each year, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. That makes the hoofed critters the largest source of the heat-trapping gas.
In part because of an adept farm lobby campaign that equates government regulation with a cow tax, the gas that farm animals pass is exempt from legislation being considered by Congress to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
The EPA under President Barack Obama has said it has no plans to regulate the gas, even though the agency recently included methane among six greenhouse gases it believes are endangering human health and welfare.
Makes me wonder every day...how in the hell did we survive without all of this government in the 1700's 1800's and 1900's...we should all be dead!!!AHHH!!!

When over 30,000 scientists say that global warming is due to sun spots, not man, and the UN is promoting the hoax, we ought to look at the motivation behind it. I live in big ranch country and the smell of cows isn't the problem either. The smell around feedlots and factory farms may be a different story. We have lots of grass and lots of sky. Global warming is a ploy to tax us. Plants thrive on CO2.

Al Gore’s venture capital firm has invested $6 million in a software company that stands to make billions of dollars from cap-and-trade regulation — further fueling controversy that Gore lied about his profiteering from cap-and-trade to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and the House Energy and Environment Subcommittee during testimony in April.
Hara Software sells software to help track greenhouse gas emissions. The market for such software is now about $2.5 billion dollars in size, and is expected to grow by a factor of ten to $25 billion if cap-and-trade legislation is enacted, according to Hara CEO Amit Chatterjee.
Kleiner Perkins, a venture capital firm in which Al Gore is a partner, invested in Hara just last year. Chatterjee told Reuters that,
“This company would not have existed if Al Gore had not bought off on the idea.”
Gore is also under fire for lying to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) at the same congressional hearing about his relationship with Goldman Sachs.
Operating as a stealth tax, cap-and-trade will make the vast majority of Americans poorer and less free — but Al Gore, Kleiner Perkins, Amit Chatterjee and Hara will be laughing all the way to the bank.
I would like to cap and trade both Gore and Obama...I just wouldn't get much in the trade.

Well whomever is responsible for taking over the world through population control is doing doing just fine because I have not yet found the resources to start a new crop of nearly extinct, Acanthopanax Eleutherococcus senticosus. Too bad we didn't find out sooner that this plant species was a cure to "Swine Flu", cancer, and HIV.
Ehhh, screw it! Govt. could make an extra buck off of me with the annual Nursery Grower license renewal fee and in the fuel profits I will create when I go down to the post office.
Turning industries into pseudo charities always makes me cringe.

Democracy:
A government of the masses.
Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of "direct" expression.
Results in mobocracy.
Attitude toward property is comunistic-negating property rights.
Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate. whether it be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences.
Results in demagogism license, agitation, discontent, anarchy.
Democracy is the "direct" rule of the people and has been repeatedly tried without success.
A certain Professor Alexander Fraser Tytler, nearly two centuries ago, had this to say about Democracy: " A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of Government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that Democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, always to be followed by a Dictatorship."
A democracy is majority rule and is destructive of liberty because there is no law to prevent the majority from trampling on individual rights. Whatever the majority says goes! A lynch mob is an example of pure democracy in action. There is only one dissenting vote, and that is cast by the person at the end of the rope.
Republic:
Authority is derived through the election by the people of public officials best fitted to represent them.
Attitude toward property is respect for laws and individual rights, and a sensible economic procedure.
Attitude toward law is the administration of justice in accord with fixed principles and established evidence, with a strict regard to consequences.
A greater number of citizens and extent of territory may be brought within its compass.
Avoids the dangerous extreme of either tyranny or mobocracy. Results in statesmanship, liberty, reason, justice, contentment, and progress.
Is the "standard form" of government throughout the world.
A republic is a form of government under a constitution which provides for the election of:
an executive and
a legislative body, who working together in a representative capacity, have all the power of appointment, all power of legislation all power to raise revenue and appropriate expenditures, and are required to create
a judiciary to pass upon the justice and legality of their governmental acts and to recognize
certain inherent individual rights.
Take away any one or more of those four elements and you are drifting into autocracy. Add one or more to those four elements and you are drifting into democracy.
Our Constitutional fathers, familiar with the strength and weakness of both autocracy and democracy, with fixed principles definitely in mind, defined a representative republican form of government. They "made a very marked distinction between a republic and a democracy and said repeatedly and emphatically that they had founded a republic."
A republic is a government of law under a Constitution. The Constitution holds the government in check and prevents the majority (acting through their government) from violating the rights of the individual. Under this system of government a lynch mob is illegal. The suspected criminal cannot be denied his right to a fair trial even if a majority of the citizenry demands otherwise.
Difference between Democracy and Republic, in brief:
Democracy:
a: government by the people; especially : rule of the majority.
b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

Republic
a: a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government.
b: a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.
Democracy and Republic are often taken as one of the same thing, but there is a fundamental difference. Whilst in both cases the government is elected by the people, in Democracy the majority rules according to their whims, whilst in the Republic the Government rule according to law. This law is framed in the Constitution to limit the power of Government and ensuring some rights and protection to Minorities and individuals.
The difference between Republic and Righteous Republic is that in the Republic the Government rules according to the law set up by men, in the Righteous Republic the law is the Law of God. Only in the Righteous Republic it can truly be said "One nation under God" for it is governed under commandments of the only One True God and there is no pluralism of religions.
Autocracy declares the divine right of kings; its authority can not be questioned; its powers are arbitrarily or unjustly administered.
Mobocracy: 1. Political control by a mob. 2. The mass of common people as the source of political control.
I agree that farming is primary to our being a great nation but could you guys stop with the runoff that is killing our waterways? We need your plants and cows but we need our fish also.
How did we ever get this far with out us planning how nature works? Does that make sense at all? Nature has a way of dictating to us no matter what we want to happen...Katrina is a good reminder of that.
