Tax the top rich now

Why Is This Idea Important?: We don't have money to run our government. Our enemies have control over us since we borrow from them. They are buying up America for their own profit. Generations out will pay for government's bad decisions made today.

We have huge debt. Obama instead is promising to let tax cuts to top 1% rich expire in 2010. It will be 2011 before the money even flows into our treasury.

Movie stars don't need million dollar weddings, numerous homes, etc. Billionaires are very common today while our society can't pay to run our government. Our large, educated middle class made us the great democracy "we were". If you are lucky to prosper in our democracy, you should pay back so others can do the same.

  2. Until the U.S. can lock people in the country, all the "rich" will do is move out of the country. Then... we get even fewer in taxing.

    Stop the spending madness.

So it's OK that some people work hard, save and invest, or even start a business to employ others, and that because of their success they should be penalized?

That IS Socialism, NOT capitalism. Why should some pay for others that dont' want to put forth the effort?

That's why I beleive in Fair Tax....

You mean if you work hard?

No, how about if the government actually learns to live within its means and spend wisely like the rest of us.

Since there is no law that requires any of us to pay income tax, why would it be fair to tax wealthy people on their income? This is not capital gains which companies already pay. The solution prescrbied here is like putting a bucket under a leak in the roof. It makes more sense to fix the hole. The government should spend less but they are driven by the Feds. to spend more. The government is NOT for the people. The Elitists/Illuminati are for themselves!

    There are exceptions.

  9. THOU SHALT NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOR'S GOODS.....

Stevensje, if you want to earn more and contribute to the government more, then do something about your job skills and or level of ambition. There is an old saying..."You are where you want to be." If you're not where you want to be, then go for it. Quit milking other people for your lack of anything.

You sound quite bitter. It's your life. Change it!

  10. Folks, Stevensje is referring to the "top rich". Google "the L curve" and realize who these people are! They are not the "hard working, innovative people who built businesses and succeeded" - not by a long shot. The only path to build the kind of wealth these folks have is extremely corrupt. I defy anyone to name any individual who has provided so much benefit to society that they deserve tens of billions of dollars in reward. Anyone?

Additionally, the only way to use this kind of wealth is to shore up your citadel, buy more political control and further tip the scales the wrong way. Any one of these "uber-rich" could buy every Ferrari ever made. Really, how many homes and yachts does anyone require? Oh yeah, tax 'em!

  11. Ok, stevenje did mention some hard working folks. I'm just saying the extreme end needs some special tax focusing.

Well the rich have the right to be rich and keep their $.If we are going to make changes in gov. especially spending and budgeting.........No more big self given raises for gov. employees....They should not be payed more than $40.00 a year...That puts themabove poverty level and if it's not enough....Maybe they will just have to take a 2nd job....Lets see if they like having to learn another language to get work in their own country...Or, if they like all of the 3rd world work standards that Americans now have to put up with .Thanks to them....

    I totally agree gypsy-sage...

Our "government" is reaching all time highs in self-indulgence, greed and corruption. I don't think you actually meant $40., but you're entirely correct about how we cater to the "illegal" or even legal immigrant population. It's not that I don't think people shuld embrace their heritage, but this is AMERICA, a melting pot, where we should be expected to assimilate to the USA, a primarily ENGLISH speaking country. We spend billions (of which we could SAVE, and NOT over-tax the people that are creating jobs in this country) catering to people who do not even try to learn OUR language, and worse yet, they are miling our "handout' system. This wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else but in the gool ole' US of A. Sad.

    Dear Wannabe Billionaire.

Obama promised he would tax the rich (top 1%) and then he backed down.

Since Reagan the tax cuts were intended to create a oligarchy in our democracy to ruin it.

Are you a billionaire? On your way to your first billion or what? They hide their money in off shore banks.
