Miranda rights for Men Who cause disaster

Why Is This Idea Important?: They are AMERICANS TOO ,RIGHT??

This bill is BS what about thier cival rights? those Gdarn republicans are at it again . Darn BBuuuuuuuuuuush .they lost .Get over it

The proposal, offered as a motion to recommit by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), would prohibit any funds under the act being used to provide the rights Americans enjoy under Miranda v. Arizona by the Department of Justice, to terrorist detainees in the custody of U.S. Armed Forces in Afghanistan:

“Terrorists who want to kill Americans and destroy our way of life should not be granted the same rights as American citizens. I am pleased House Democrats joined Republicans to send a clear message to the Obama Administration that terrorists should not be given Miranda rights and an opportunity to take advantage of the U.S. legal system. As this legislation is finalized, House Democrats who supported this proposal must ensure it remains a part of the bill ultimately sent to the President’s desk. Let’s be clear: terrorism is not a law enforcement issue. That is a pre-9/11 mentality that helped pave the way for deadliest terrorist strike in American history, and granting terrorists Miranda rights would be a significant blow to our efforts to defeat the terrorist threat.”

NOTE: News reports recently noted that the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have read terrorist suspects their Miranda rights overseas, at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan and other places

It's this type of mentality that earned us 911!(Criminals don't deserve civil rights) Any BTW, when the republicans lost, AMERICA lost. Wake up people!

Let's look back to 1987- One of our first WARNINGS!

At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; 'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?' Ollie replied, 'Yes, I did, Sir.'

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, 'Isn't that just a little excessive?'

    'No, sir,' continued Ollie.

'No? And why not?' the senator asked.

'Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.' 'Threatened? By whom?' the senator questioned.

'By a terrorist, sir' Ollie answered.

'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?'

'His name is Osama bin Laden, sir' Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?' the senator asked.

'Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of', Ollie answered.

'And what do you recommend we do about him?' asked the senator.

'Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.'

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Also: Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called 'political prisoners...'

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher,'insisted' that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked us by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center ... This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.

It was censored in the US from all later reports.

This is a bigger issue than presented.

Is our government empowered to violate the constitution is the question presented.

Regardless of whom they target with their massive powers, they are bound by the constitution.

It is the only inhibition upon them. Never unleash a monster the size of our government to act outside the constraints in the constitution.

Bound by the constitution, against foriegn enemies who don't give a rats ass about it?

Act against the constraints? I thought the constitution was meant to constrain the government against it's people. The American peolple. On American soil.

    Go back to Holders office.

The constitution is a constraint upon government.

Not a selective constraint. A constraint.

It is a threat to liberty to permit them to play outside of their defined arena.

The threat will not be selective. As applied, Bush's threat was not limited to non-americans.
