Health care for Birthers, PUMAs, wingnuts in general

Why Is This Idea Important?: Because whatever these people have must be contagious and could be passed on to more normal, thinking people.

It's obvious that these unfortunate loons aren't capable of thinking for themselves and could be a danger to themselves and others. I suggest that any new health care program include forms that people could check such as:

I believe President Obama's birth certificate isn't real or is a plot of the Lizard People. Yes___No___

I believe Glenn Beck is a rational, intelligent person who's views represent mine (if I thought for myself at all). Yes___No___

Just an example but such questions could identify people who need urgent, critical mental health care and should be given treatment immediately!

i have a question for you

if a candidate is required to provide his birth cert. and Obama has not what is your problem?

he has failed to provide it.

the document provided is not valid HI even said it is not.

why would you spend so much energy trying to prevent disclosure???

anything short of showing us on demand is hiding the fact.

  5. I guess I'm a "birther", because I do want the questions about his eligibility and background answered. Why? Because it's a matter of Constitutional law. You know, the Law Of The Land. You may have heard of it. But I can assure you I'm not a fringe crazy nor do I wear a tinfoil hat. I'm a recording engineer in Nashville, college educated, a political independent, and I think for myself. I didn't favor either candidate.

At the outset of the campaign, the Senate held a hearing to examine McCain's eligibility, including his birth, because he was born in Panama. The Constitution charges the Senate with this responsibility, but the Senate did not require Obama to provide any proofs of his eligibility. I find that odd. Now, we find that Obama refuses to provide any documentation regarding his birth, and has even hired lawyers to guard that information. Why, if he has nothing damaging to hide? It's such a simple thing to address, AND IT'S THE LAW - all presidential candidates are required to provide proof of eligibility. Except Obama. Why? Oh, and the famous Certification of Live Birth from Hawaii, posted on the internet is NOT proof. Even Hawaii's state government won't accept that for state jobs there. But we're supposed to accept it for the most powerful office in the nation? We're supposed to accept a President because he managed to win the election without qualifying his candidacy? And we aren't going to ask questions about it? To do so would, in my opinion, make one guilty of not thinking for one's self.

This site shows the actual, certified-by-State-of-Hawaii birth certificate shown in pictures. But if you think it's all some sort of conspiracy then you won't believe it even it you held it in your hands.

I knew a man who claimed the moon landings never happened. It said it was all a hoax. Nothing could change his mind. When you want to people something in spite of the evidence you do. It still doesn't make it true.

  7. I am not one given to blind stubbornness even when faced with proof. But the document shown is simply not proof.

The document displayed is NOT a birth certificate. Notice that it doesn't list the hospital, the delivery doctor, the parents' names, etc. It is a "Certification of Live Birth", which in those days Hawaii issued for thousands of children who were born in other countries but lacking any form of birth documents. It is not a true Birth Certificate, which is a longer form with more detail and is only issued for babies born in Hawaii. To further illustrate the meaninglessness of the Certification of Live Birth, the Hawaii state government won't accept it as proof of citizenship when applying for state jobs. They demand a Birth Certificate. Obama may indeed have a true Birth Certificate on file in Hawaii, but I must ask why he refuses to allow its release. I mean, we're not talking about sensitive information critical to national security. But in fact, he has instructed Hawaiian state officials to not release it, and he has hired attorneys to block all attempts at gaining access to this and other docmentation of his past, such as school records. Why? No other President has been so secretive about these things.

By the way, FactCheck.org is allied with the Annenberg Foundation. Barack Obama was the founding chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school reform organization funded by Annenberg. FactCheck.org has been shown repeatedly to skew facts on certain issues, indicating a bit of a slant in their presentation of information, especially as it regards Barack Obama. Therefore, I am not inclined to view FactCheck as the gospel, especially when they should know that a Certification of Live Birth issued by Hawaii in the 1960's is not the same as a regular long form birth certificate. They are, after all, in the business of checking facts.

It is also worrisome to me that so many people are willing to summarily dismiss it based upon information from sources friendly to Obama, like FactCheck and the mainstream media. Are you so sure of the truth? Have you investigated beyond what FactCheck.org, MSNBC and like-minded bloggers have to say? I've been following this for quite some time, and there are troubling questions that don't have clear answers. I just want the truth. If he qualifies, fine, I'll shut up and let it go. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But what if he doesn't? Doesn't America deserve to know the truth? Well, we won't get it as long as it is being hidden from us.

So go ahead and poke fun if you like. Shallow thinking and blind acceptance isn't what made this country. But it certainly is making it into something other than what it has been.
