Net Neutrality

Why Is This Idea Important?: ISPs want to restrict access to content as they see fit. This will hinder competition and could easily lead to tiered Internet service not unlike cable television.

Internet content should be unrestricted at the ISP level.

  1. It is also important to keep ideas from being controled by big media. Over 90% of media controled by a hand full companies, except the internet and they are working hard right now to control that too. I want to keep the internet open!

Net Nuetrality is large corps forcing huge amounts of traffic through the line and your ISP gets crushed under the load because they can't do anything about it.

Allow for bandwidth limiting and maybe.

@citizen Then perhaps a tiered service based on bandwidth usage like Time Warner is trying to do, but not one based on content. They're rolling this out under the guise of stopping illegal downloading, but this slope is far too slippery. It won't be long before access is blocked to competitors sites and services, ISPs deem certain content "premium", and all sort of dissidents are silenced completely.

  5. Yes they can by keepping current with new computer hardware. The new stuff is faster and cheaper. I would gladly pay the few cents more for them to upgrade from old slow hardware. Do not be fooled this is all about control.

  6. I also do not want any ISP able to censor my or your speech, even citizen's speech, athough she or he seems to want the ISPs able to do that, also the ISPs should not be held responsible for what I say or what citizen say online, if you have a problem with something someone says go after who said it and not some third party like the ISPs.
