Label GMO foods
It was decided by the FDA that genetically modified foods do NOT have to be labeled as such. Let us make the choice of what we eat by letting us know what's in the food! Make labeling mandatory. Studies by many scientists and physicians have determined that GMOs are health risks. Now vaccines may be added to corn, corn products and animal feed. Stop this maddness!

Why Is This Idea Important?

I couldn't even imagine why anyone would think we need any of this GMO. We have made it so far without it and I feel that things like this will be part of our undoing.

When the movie Food, Inc. comes to an area near you or the DVD is released on Sept. 15th, watch it! The book has been available for awhile. Also get familiar with Monsanto and Codex if you aren't aleady. I don't go to the grocery store for food anymore. I eat organic produce, pastured meat, free-range eggs and raw butter/ dairy that I buy from trusted sources. I also grow my own during a very short growing season and a few people in my community started a co-op.

It is about time they start labeling GMO foods. I totally agree with this. Give us a choice!

I e-mailed Costco last week because I was suspicious that the grapefruits I purchase by the dozen were GMO. They had a PLU (not mandatory) that had five digits starting with an "8". Organics begin with a 9, and conventional product simply has four digits, often starting with a four.

Costco replied asking for the SKU, so I sent that to them. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything more, although I'll give them some more time.

Tell your Congressman about this serious issue and TELL YOUR GROCER. Costco for one will listen and they are a big name.

I do not want to eat the poisons created by Monsanto. Monsanto is the most evil corporation in the history of mankind, or at least top ten. The (bt) toxin variant that they splice into everything, thickens the intestinal lining of any creature that consumes it. For small insects that generally means death, which is the point of the product, but they do not advertise or tell anyone of the human and large animal side effects. Monsanto is the product of the deregulation phase of our government. Monsanto supposedly researches it’s own products for consumer safety, submits their phony studies to the FDA and get approval by stacking corporate heads in the FDA.

The Round Up ready seed & plant varieties can take a direct hit from their herbicide (Round Up) so the farmers can spray their entire fields to clean up unwanted weeds, but the rub is, Round Up is not biodegradable and the break down compounds could be toxic and stay in the soils for years. Genetic drift pollination into none GMO fields causes their genetics to spread, uncontrolled. Then Monsanto sends out people to sample none GMO fields for patent violations and mug anyone with lawyers and lawsuits for patient infringements. They file suites in districts where Monsanto owns the judiciary, and should the farmer, in their innocence, tries to fight, they loose everything in the process. This plays out everywhere in the United States and abroad.

Absolutely. Truth in labeling. Let the consumer decide if they want to consume it with full knowledge of what's inside.

Genetic Modified (GM) Food Conspiracy

The United States Government failed in their obligation to mandate testing of Genetically Modified Organisms for human consumption and environmental impact on essential insect populations and health. In the late 1980’s several seed corporations spent a minor amount of money to develop the shotgun method of genetic splicing. These seed companies inserted traits to grains that made them resistant to their brands of herbicide, and strains that where resistant to insect pests. Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) plants kills corn borer insects that eat any part of the plant. The Bt protein breaks down in the digestive track of the insect, then it generates as shorter protein that binds to the wall of the intestines, which damages the cell membranes, thus causing intestinal leakage of fluids into the body, killing the insect. The rational in using Bt bacteria in genetic splicing, was due to the fact that this poison is used in liquid insect killer by farmers and gardeners, for over forty years, with no known side effects to humans or animals.

Today, each and every citizen of the United States, and much of the world, are eating this modified grain in some form or another. Every citizen is undergoing the “Great Human Experiment” to see if this grain modification will produce changes in our intestinal track. Only time will tell if this change in human, animal, and insect intestinal tracks will be harmful or negligible. I suspect that Bt products produce a thickening of intestinal walls of all animals and insects that ingests this product.

Every country that grows GM grains is seeing massive bee population die offs. I postulate, that the massive decreasing bee population is directly correlated to the increase use of Bt organisms. Pollen from Bt plants (corn, soybean, cotton) are collected by bees and stored for later use. Should this decreasing trend in Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), causes bees around the world to become extinct, then mankind’s continued existence on this planet will be jeopardized

The corn conspiracy continues. In the late 1990’s modified grain exports where rejected in Europe for animal or human consumption. United States then found that it has large supplies of crops that they couldn’t sell abroad. The sale of unmodified grains to foreign countries would feeds millions of people and lowers trade imbalances. Up until that time, ethanol was a minor fuel additive only known in the Midwestern states. Congress, in its infinite wisdom, started to enact laws that would promote the distillation of corn to ethanol. They packaged ethanol as a fuel additive that will reduce the nation’s dependence of foreign oil. To promote the domestic distillation of corn ethanol, congress enacted laws that subsidized ethanol production by giving refiners a federal 51 cent-per gallon excise tax credit for meeting the federal Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) mandate. To keep cheaper foreign ethanol out of the country, congress enacted a 54 cent-per-gallon tariff. Meaning, if congress really cared about increasing ethanol substitutes, then why enact a protective tariff of foreign import of this resource? Ethanol is merely a device used to justify increasing use of genetically modified organisms (GMO), by providing an excuse that such crops are intended for feed animal staples and domestic ethanol production, only. But the reality is, grain management does not provide a sufficient program of grain separation/segregation to the designated end user; nor does management test the genetic purity of grains in which it manages, nor does the end user test for genetic modification. (Conjecture)

DON'T WORRY EVERYONE! It is true, they are genetically modifying and not talking about it. But we can talk about it, let them know it is not acceptable, and long after this site is gone, we can join together elsewhere and combine lists of all who participates in this injustice..for the record, so we can all stick together for support...KELLOGG'S cereal uses genetically modified sugar...if you know of another product or company that participates, please join in this conversation! Americans sure are alot smarter than they thought huh?! It is SAD, we over-estimated THEM ACTUALLY having a CONSCIENCE...

Our rich friend, Bill Gates, has seeds stored in a vault with David Rockefeller and Monsanto.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=7529

He and his wife donated a large sum of money to a Japanese scientist to do research into including vaccines in corn. Every corn product and animal fed corn will contain this vaccine. Corn syrup is in many processed foods. If this happens, every person who eats these foods will get vaccinated whether they want to be or not. Babies will get more toxic chemicals than their bodies can handle. Another frightening possibility: scientists are trying to get the vaccine into mosquitos. They may have had prior experience infecting deer ticks with Lyme disease.

This sounds crazy and most peopole won't believe it. Here's the story on Natural News:

http://www.naturalnews.com/026434_vaccines_vaccination_vaccinations.html

It's getting ugly when they hijack healthy food and outlaw supplements! Organic farmer's are also being criminalized in some cases.

The sad thing that's happening is that good, honest small companies are selling out to conglomerates. A few companies own all the business. This is happening in every field. The incomplete pyramid on every dollar is coming to a head. We will have one World domination if we let this pattern continue. That will be the time that we face the Tribulation.

The world wide decline in bee populations is a direct threat to our future food production. Bee populations are declining rapidly every year. The United States is calling this problem Colony Collapse Disorder. I postulate that the decline in bee population has a direct correlation to the increase usage of genetically modified organisms. In fact, the rate and growth of Colony Collapse Disorder, closely mirrors that of Bt organism growth. This connection should not be overlooked or disregarded. When bee populations become too reduced in numbers to be determined as ineffective instruments of pollination, then our nation’s ability to produce food staples will rapidly decline. “According to experts, if bees were to become extinct then humanity would perish after just four years.” (Latsch, 2007)

The study in question is a small research project conducted at the University of Jena from 2001 to 2004. The researchers examined the effects of pollen from a genetically modified maize variant called "Bt corn" on bees. A gene from a soil bacterium had been inserted into the corn that enabled the plant to produce an agent that is toxic to insect pests. The study concluded that there was no evidence of a "toxic effect of Bt corn on healthy honeybee populations." But when, by sheer chance, the bees used in the experiments were infested with a parasite, something eerie happened. According to the Jena study, a "significantly stronger decline in the number of bees" occurred among the insects that had been fed a highly concentrated Bt poison feed. According to Hans-Hinrich Kaatz, a professor at the University of Halle in eastern Germany and the director of the study, the bacterial toxin in the genetically modified corn may have "altered the surface of the bee's intestines, sufficiently weakening the bees to allow the parasites to gain entry -- or perhaps it was the other way around. We don't know." (Latsch, 2007)

I demand that the United States government, Universities or research groups immediately begin testing the relationship of Bt grains and bee health issues to determine the future value of Modified Genetic crops. Should it be determined that Bt crops do harm bee populations, then Bt organisms must be expunged from all use in every country, state, and province.

Tell Obama & Vilsack to Drop Bush's Pro-GMO Rules
Just before leaving office, the Bush Administration released a new federal law that would significantly weaken the regulation of genetically engineered crops. Please join the Organic Consumers Association in pressing President Obama and USDA Secretary Vilsack to drop Bush's pro-GMO rule. The rule would increase contamination of organic and conventional crops and release the USDA from the responsibility to remedy GMO contamination. It would let the GE pharmacrop industry gene-splice dangerous drugs and industrial chemicals into plants and food crops in the open environment. In addition, the rule would give the biotech industry the power to decide whether their new genetically engineered crops should be subject to regulation at all. In the 2008 presidential race, Obama promised "change we can believe in." We need a change from the Bush Administration's pro-GMO policies.
