Because the republicans are so upset about losing the election that they're trying to interfere with any attempt Obama is making at helping the people. They can't even let the people who want to give him ideas get those ideas to him. No, they have to flood this site with birfer bullcrap that just makes us all wonder, why the hell SHOULD the government help the people? You idiots are making fascism seem better and better by the day. Furthermore, who CARES if Obama was born in America or if he's a Muslim? You're just making yourselves look like racists! So, to the right-wing extremists who are trying to ruin America just to satisfy their own selfish delusions, I say to you, open your eyes and learn what democracy is supposed to be about. It's not about whether your party wins or loses. It's about making America a better place to live, and if you right-wing nutjobs don't stop ruining this site, then Obama will just have to shut it down, because right now, I don't see how he and his administration can accomplish ANYTHING with it filled with all these messages of hate directed toward him.
Note: The part about shutting down this site is sarcastic. I think it's a great idea for the government to have a site where people can express their ideas for change, as long as people don't just use it to troll the president.

I agree with the OP. Can you imagine what the rest of the world thinks of US when they read all this hate speech? Is this what America has become? Never in my life did I think the US population would become so crude and savage. Ever hear of "united we stand / divided we fall"? And that is what we have here when the airwaves and media outlets have been deregulated and corporatized to the extent that "shock jocks" and "hate mongers" rule. (and they have the nerve to call it the "liberal media") What we see on this site is the result of FCC deregulation and corporate propaganda that infects the minds of the weak and ignorant. This is also due to the eroded education system (due to bad "top-down" management) where people learn little to nothing about true history and the real world around them. Those two items can be fixed, but the hate and hostility that these ignorant people have embraced can't unless they have the will to choose to inform them selves with the truth...and that is what is lacking in the media. The media and public airwaves no longer serve the public interest to deliver accurate information. It has become "infotainment" with a corporate agenda that deliberately distracts and misleads the public with useless trivial and sometimes hateful rhetoric. We have 24 hour "news" channels that are as shallow as can be with handsome looking anchors that are clueless (but you will watch it if they look good, right?). All this is by design. The media corporations only care to make money, not deliver the real full story about important subjects. It is "media sensationalism", and nothing else. Lots of hype, and little to no substance of any information of value to the public.
Breakup the large corporate ownership of the media and return to the regulations that allow TRUE diversity, public information and accurate reporting...and true free speech. If we do that than someday maybe future generations of Americans can become informed with truth and act in a civil manor.
