Obama and his wife and family seem to be taking a lot of vacation time. How do we as taxpayers have all of this extra money for the Obamas to be vacationing, sightseeing and having date night at taxpayer expense?
The Obamas should be cutting back just like the rest of us are.

How much vacation time are we speaking of here?
After four months, a weekend off is unreasonable?
He can afford it and the Secret Service cost is a constant anyway. But, he should not be frivilous in using his perks (aircraft, helicopters and etc. )
We're cutting back and we still get a weekend off every week. I don't understand what the problem is here.
I'd vote for him to stay on permanent vacation. Less damage done that way.
I wouldn't mind him taking a weekend off to drive a nice convertible(top down)down to Dallas...he could check out the local sights like the book depository...it's so nice down there it would blow his mind.
Being the Chief Executive of the United States is the single TOUGHEST job in the world. Have you not noticed how rapidly Presidents age during their tenture? Just look at Bill Clinton's hair when he started, and when he ended his Presidency.
The President is on-call 24/7/365. He needs and deserves a little down time to retain his sanity, and in order to his job well.
Bob, I totally agree with you.
All I heard the entire time Bush was in office was how much time he was taking on vacation, which I never felt was a problem because I do know that the President, whether it's Obama or Bush, is on call 24/7.
I just love how the Left has no issues with any of the time Obama is taking, but they were relentless about any time Bush was taking. I just enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy.
This is another case of Mr. Obama's lack of leadership ability and experience. Taking a quick hop on Air-Force One to New York for a "Date Night"; sets a poor example for the nation when citizens are out-of-work and strapped for money.
A great leader would have chosen to have a local "Date Night" that kept the costs down. Based on past costs (since the White House has refuses to be transparent about the cost of "Date Night") released by government on flying President Bush on vacations; Mr. Obama's "Date Night" cost us Taxpayers around $250,000.

Big Rooster, I'm going to report this post to the Secret Service. Just so you know.
You act like I care what you do. This is a government website too...wow. You must think I like in Dallas too. Get a life bro.
Photo, yes, on second thought I agree with you that it shows Obama's lack of leadership and thoughtfulness. A more local "date night" and a more quiet one during these times of struggle would have been more in good taste.
"I just love how the Left has no issues with any of the time Obama is taking, but they were relentless about any time Bush was taking. I just enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy."
When Obama starts taking 12 weeks off flying around the country every year, perhaps you'll have some hypocrisy to point out?
ladyhawk, it doesn't matter if Bush or Obama takes "12 weeks off flying around the country." They're office follows them and they are on call 24/7. It really doesn't matter. The Left just making a hoopla out of it because they wanted to bash Bush every chance they got.
But they just have no issues with the Obamas having their time off.
After what Photo said, I agree now. It's more than hypocrisy. At this time of sacrifice for the entire country, to have the Obamas traipsing around the world vacationing and "date night" in New York and the in-your-face fun time is thoughtless, conceited and shows lack of leadership.
Actually it DOES matter, when people who insisted Bush had the absolute right to spend as much time on vacation as he liked are now criticizing when Obama takes a weekend. It's typical reicht-wing garbage.
Like I said, my husband and I get two days off every week, belt tightening or not. I don't see the issue here.
And when the Lost Wingers have no issues with the Obamas vacationing so much and he's only been in office a little more than 100 days and relentlessly complained about Bush being on vacation, I find that another hypocrisy of the Lost Wingers.
You all seemed to not mention the $ 100 Japanese steak parties or the pizza FLOWN in from ST.Louis.Pretty fancy eats for the green hypocrit.Chicago deep dish is better ,And a shorter flight.
Eletists do what they want don't ya know.
csrbev,
I have no problem with o taking time off . . . The more he takse off the less he messes thing up. I just which he would announce to America that he will be taking the next four years off.
