It sounds like a good idea but look at the facts.

It wouldn't make a difference because they are all getting paid by special interest groups to push their agendas anyway...have you seen any politicians do what is right for our country before getting paid by their thug buddies?

Rooster, I'm sad to say that you're right. I have not seen politicians on either side doing what's right for the country. :(

Bev & Roo, you are both right. I propose a pay cut for all Fed employees, and by God, TERM LIMITS for Senators & Reps. New limits/rules for the lobbyist & Gov employees can & should be rewritten. Here in Tx, state legislators have voted, more than once, to protect their 'nondisclosure' rules for shielding who's greasing their palms. I don't understand how they are getting away with it, other than to say, that 'We, the People' have been LETTING them get

away with it, State & Fed "Public Servants" alike, for far far too long. I puke when I hear Obonga, or any fat Fed cat speak of "Serving the people", as if they were in office to help the taxpayers.

John, right now I don't think any government employee throughout the entire country should be getting a raise, primarily ANY elected position. As a matter of fact, I think all elected people should say that they're going to take a 10 percent pay cut.

"Nondisclosure rules" just should not be allowed. In California we have the Brown Act that does not allow for that, in most cases. I don't know if Brown Act is federal or state, now that I think about it.

Ya'll have a governator that cant see that 20% of his budget deficit is because of the illegal's in your state...that is sad.

House members get a government expense allowance of $1.3 million to $1.9 million a year. Senators get $2.9 million to $4.5 million. They give themselves raises this way.

I think it would be more better to put a stop to other income-such as "donation"bribe where special interests pay for legislation favors.

Big, I'm all for cutting off everything in California going to illegal immigrants. It's going to wind up happening. California has been giving pablum to everyone for the past several decades. Now we're all paying for it.

I figure if the illegals get cut off, they'll go back to the countries they came from and then, if they want, they'll come in legally, which is the correct way to enter another country.

The Legislative and Executive branches salaries should be tied to the National Debt. Higher the debt the less they get paid. If there is a surplus, then they get a bonus. To be fair to newly seated or hired people, their first-year's income is not reduced.

Agreed the whole lot of them should be laid-off/fired/impeached. Time to start with a "clean" group.

We need representatives and public servants that are dedicated to the Republic, not their own personal gains. We need patriots vs. power-mad, money-hungry, _______.

Photo, I love the idea of policitians' pay being connected to whether there is a surplus or not. I believe that should happen at every level of government.

Everyone in government should be placed on minimum wage.

Capping or limiting the pay of rich people in Congress is not going to help the American People one bit. It is not what they make that is the problem, it is the laws they pass to take the money you earn. A great example is the passage of HR1256 that continues to attack Smokers with punitive taxes, destroy the Tobacco Industry,destroy Small Businesses, and Jobs. It is the Democrats support for the Union that continues to destroy busineses and Jobs. It is the support of Environmental Fanatics that keep Gas prices rising, destroys jobs in the oil industry, and forces you to buy cars you do not want. Perhaps someone could tell me how capping these folks salary will change what they do to us. They are already rich, multi millionaires. Maybe sending only hourly working people with children to Congress may be a better idea if they are limited to two weeks in Congress because after two weeks they will be multi-millionaires too.

eddiekempsr: You have it right. Capping salary is not really needed as much as stopping the corruption and "favors" that do make them most of the politicians super rich.

Thanks for your service and your support. I hope I can encourage more people to divorce themselves from "emotions" when it comes to Politics. Capping salaries is an emotional response, that does nothing to help the American People. Term Limits does nothing to help the American People. The key is taking a stand and using our vote to say to a Republican, you are a Democrat and I am not going to vote for you or Democrat you belive in Socialism and I am not going to vote for you. When we start sending these millionaires home with their tails stuck between their legs Change and Hope will come. The American People I fought for and almost lost my life for will be free to be the Americans I believe we all want to truly be. Thanks pdennany, you give me hope.
