The insidious malaise and lack of journalistic integrity of the White House press corp is shocking. It's like watching Obama's staff rather than a group of journalists whose job isn't simply to accept everything Gibbs and the President feeds them and set in motion but to question every nuance, every hint of deception and to bring us clarity by doing so.Has journalism "died" under this President? Or is it simply the press corps is so inept by acting like his lap dogs and complicit in advancing and enabling this admin to dictate to them rather than pressing Gibbs/President on controversial issues. So enamored by this President, they are lulled into a careless stupor. This must change and each and every so called journalist working at White House should be ashamed of themselves for letting Americans down. Since so much on this site has been about Obama's elusive long form bc, let me remind you how that was handled by Gibbs and the press corps just last week. I believe it was a journalist from World Net Daily that asked the question concerning Obama's bc and he prefaced by quoting Obama's own words on transpareny. Gibbs acted incredulous that this man would even bring up the subject and his response was sarcastic laughter followed by more laughter from everyone in room. And what was Gibbs reply? His answer was "its on the internet" followed by some faux reaction that he(Gibbs) was astounded this issue had not been put to rest yet. Let's break this down shall we? First of all if I was asked to provide my birth certificate for any litany of reasons, to prove citizenship, would I tell the person requiring my bc that "its on the internet?" I would be laughed at, but there was Gibbs with a mocking smirk on his face selling us this ridiculous answer as if it came close to being a legitmate and logical response. This is beginning to look like a complete take over, a system wherein, all sectors and aspects of our lives are being controlled by this administration, including the White House press corps. This is an egregious display of bias, stupidity and dereliction of journalistic responsibilites and someone needs to step up and shine a very bright light on the "death" of reporters and seekers of truth in our country. Someone needs to be brave enough to stand up not only for our country's sake but as a reminder THOSE that call themselves journalist, are abject failures.
