Kelo was an abomination - White house should support legislative correction

Why Is This Idea Important?: Right now, government, including local governments, can walk in, condemn your home, and give it to 7-11 if they want. That is a clear violation of the constitution.

The judicial system tried to escape their obligation by tasking congress with failure for defining eminent domain. That was a judicial failure.

Now, congress fails to correct. That is a congressional failure.

The executive branch should support Kelo reform by use of a public posting of use:

Who initiated eminent domain

When

Why

Succeed Fail

What public use was made of the property.

The funny thing about Kelo is the How did the community become a blight in the first place.

First, New London convenced many of the residences that they should conceed or have eminent domain proceedings brought against them and receive less for their property. Next the city bulldozed the porperties that they had gained control of then classifice the remainder a blight.

If the average property owner did something like that, they would have been cited for code violations.
